Anything from Division Bell (one of the greatest albums ever made fro me), Comfortably Numb, Wish you were here, Shine on you Crazy Diamond, the list is endless really - I love Dave Gilmour (in a non sexual way mind Lol) Strangely enough I really don't like Brick in the Wall.
Wasn't Brick mostly (if not all) Waters. I believe he was at odds with both Gilmour and Wright (I think Rick Wright was one of the most underestimated and talented keyboard keyboard men around) I got the impression that Waters was a bit in your face and opinionated and perhaps was largely responsible for the rift and eventual break up. I know that Gilmour toured with Wright for a long time after the split, in fact they were due to appear on the Hootnanny on the year that Wright (very sadly) passed away.
I think Brick in the wall is one of the most overrated pieces of music ever to be honest. The single is overplayed and commerical crap. I love Gilmour too but wasn't best pleased at his boys will be boys comment about his dickhead son.
Was this the fire extinguisher incident? I'm sure that's his step son (not that it makes any difference to your comment, the lad is just as guilty for grade A bell-endery)
Fully agree. Posh oik syndrome. The little twat needs a slap. Shame, as Gilmore always comes across a a decent enough bloke.
It's a bit like Bryan Ferrys complete ****er of a son. He is a spoilt little hoorah Henry too but I still love his old mans music.
Agree with most of what has been said. Well apart from Reg who clearly has no taste. Too many great songs to pick an out and out favourite. I have loved Floyd from the beginning ( Gotta couple of their LP's on 8 Track hahaha) and agree with Bud about having to be in the right mood for certain types of music. Floyd is for my mellow times. If I want to just listen to music I always fall back to Sabbath or Deep Purple.
The wall film was ***** like magical mystery tour, yes the Beatles, Queen, ELO, Santana, K C and the sunshine band.
