Personally I have a feeling it will be Paul Tisdale who was linked to us about a month ago and is only down the road at the moment.

The one that I really don't want is Steve Cotterill who is awful as don't think we want another ex Forest manager. Richie Barker also doesn't give me much hope looking at his career as a manager.

There is a part of me that wouldn't mind seeing LJ but it would only take 1 defeat and the fans would be on his back so couldn't see him take it but has done well at Oldham.

Appleton was on talksport saying he wants the job but again I wouldn't let him near Bristol let alone the club

Tisdale, Edinburgh or Curle would be worth a fiver at the bookies.

If he left Cardiff, would he, realistically, come to City in League One and could we afford him? No, no and no! But I would personally drive over the Severn Bridge.

He will be the next Norwich manager when the premiership merry go round starts soon.

But I doubt anyone would object to him coming here would they?

Forest realised that Cotterill and O'Driscoll were not good enough to get them up from Championship!

Let's hope that we do not pick up Forest's leftovers for a second time. Apart from some limited success at Cheltenham, what has Cotterill done in the last eight to make us even consider him for interview?

From the list of possible candidates above, I voted for Warnock.
The only others who fill me with any enthusiasm are Tisdale, Curle and Solskjaer.

No way OGS will even consider coming here, from Europa league to league one relegation fight?
Mike Phelan would be a good choice wants to get into management and said he don't mind starting lower down the leagues.

    ROD,
I did not mean to imply that they would be remotely interested; just that they are up on the way up as managers (?). Whereas most of the others are has beens who have achieved little.

I don't want Tisdale, he is a bigger gamble than DM was and we are not in a position to take that chance right now. I am with the others that the list is very underwhelming, the fact that they are all available speaks volumes for some of them, surprised the Monkey's Heed is not on the list or has he retired?
I hate Warnock but his record at this level is too good for us to ignore right now, plus he loves in Devon so if he can get past the play off defeat and the Sears disallowed goal issue he could be the man to sort out the team, at least until the summer when the board can reasses.

****ing hell, thirteen votes for Neil Warnock. The man that twice slated the club and our manager at the time. Sometimes the fans on this board make me laugh...

If he does join, I'll have to accept it and support him, but I'd rather have Mr Bean as our manager over 'Arry's lapdog.

To be fair Ender most on here (myself included) have voiced their dislike for Warnock immensely, however we are in a hole that is getting deeper by the week and we can appreciate that he is probably the best option from the list to sort us out right now. As I said in a previous thread a short term to the end of the season appointment may well suit both parties, and if he brings his long term No2 with him in Keith Curle he may step up in the summer as the new boss.

This season is now all about survival.

I am the leader of the "I don't like Warnock" fan club but I also think from those available, he is probably the best equipped to dig us out of the cesspit.

Of the list on here,I would say Colin would be the best candidate to grab the squad by the scruff and drag then kicking and screaming up the league....its as simple as that. Perhaps a rolling contract or such like? if he don't like it at the end of the season he can walk away.
I have read or heared somewhere that when asked in an interview which club he would like to manage outside of his beloved Sheffield, he did say Bristol City ........I do kind of think that the way in which this was done,i.e, the timing seems a little odd with 1 loss in 7, that the board have someone lined up already mind.

My concern with Colin is he didn't set Leeds on fire and look at the size of that club with the support they get.
He got QPR up with the rich owners (who does happen to be my company's owner as well) but ran out of ideas up there.

Maybe a short term contract with Keith Curle groomed to take over in the summer, but Keith will have to be different to other assistants where they struggle going from mr nice guy to fearsome leader. Which the last Keith failed at, great coach **** manager.
