Mike Phelan would be a good shout. Considering he's been spouting his mouth lately about how, for the past five years, he's basically been running Man Utd, it'd be a great chance to see if he's full of **** or whether he can hack it as a manager.
Whoever we get. I hope that we get it right this time. This will be our 6th manager in less than 4 years. (Johnson/Coppell/Millen/McInnes/SOD/ ? Odds of Appleton have been cut as have Warnock-No signs of Hartley who I reckon might be a good shout
There isnt anyone in that top 10 that I'd want. Dont get me wrong think either Warnock or Hollohead would be an interesting shout but we would have gone from DOS press conferences where he spouted about we were the best team and everything is grea to either of those two blaming the ref and the other team if we didnt win. Personally I hope Dariusz Dziekanowski put his name forward again as I believe he said he went for it when copout got the job. As former assistant to Leo Beenhakker I'm sure he would have learnt a lot that he could bring to the club. Too many of recent managers like SOD and DM have been too similar in style. I would like to have someone different and maybe bringing someone in from another part of the world may bring that (as long as we dont have another Lenny) The only problem with any clubs that club legends as players never become sucessful as managers.
I'd love to see Keith Curle as manager, at least when the guy played for us he was passionate about city,
I wanted Curbishly instead of Coppell and with each subsequent vacacy I hoped we'd go for him - but I'd now be concerned at how long he's been out of management (over 5 years). My cuirrent first choice would be Warnock, though Keith Curle could be a good choice. Phelan would be good but not a chance.
What a depressing roll call Pleeeeeeese no to Di Cantio, unless we all get brown shirts, red insignia, and little Charlie Chaplin moustaches. The man is a mentalist My ferverent hope is that Lansdown consults with Redknapp and Fergusson, and the like (Hansen, Lawrenson, people who know their sh_t) before he draws up a short list of people to see. Otherwise I dread to think who we will end up with
Mike Phelan had a nickname when a player at Man Utd as "The Heater' because he used to keep Bryan Robsons shirt warm..
Ferguson, Mourinho and Wenger were not great players. Phelan would be a gamble as he has not managed.
DI CANIO NO................... BUT who, there isn't many that would hack it with me but we are now bottom of the Div1 and that's not a tasty delicacy to sample, and how much can we afford to splash out!
