Congrats to Lamb. I was stuck on 12 and had given up. If anyone wants to post another question, please go ahead. I have a full day of work, so I won't be here until much later.
An easy one Who was the first saints player (or possibly even the first player) to score for England without kicking a ball?
Well, nearly a full day's work. Gibraltar is that rare thing these days, a British Overseas Territory, and therefore not the main home of Johnny Foreigner**..! **There may be some foreign nationals living in Gibraltar, but you get the idea. The above IS a joke, by the way. Those wishing to jump down my throat for appearing to be xenophobic can stand down. Ta.
What was the last league game Lambert didn't play? And how many consecutive games has he appeared in? I don't know the answer + am too lazy to count.
In Honour of BBC 5 lives Friday night beast question, here is a toughie.... It's based on goals per game ratio which is the mark of any great striker. Since 1992(When Football began) 19 Southampton players have managed to score better than a goal every 4 games (minimum of 10 appearances). Can you name them? As an obvious example Rickie Lambert has played 208 times scoring 106 goals. Thats a goal every 1.96 games
Off the top of my head: Shearer, MLT, Pahars, Ostenstadt, Beattie, Berkovic, Stern John, Kenwyne Jones, Kevin Phillips, Kevin Davies, Maddison, Kachloul, Dowie, Crouch, Saganowski, Lambert, Lallana, Connolly, Puncheon
Shearer 3.67 MLT 2.58 Pahars 3.46 Ostenstadt 3.3 Beattie 3 Berkovic - Nope 7 John - 2.6 Jones - 3.63 Philips - 2.8 K.Davies - Nope 5.63 (Shouldn't have come back as his 1st spell yielded 2.77 per game, compared to 8 per game) Maddison - Nope around 8.0 Kachloul - Nope 6.0 Dowie - Nope 4.06 (surprisingly close) Crouch - 2.06 Saganowski - 3.89 Lambert - 1.96 Lallana - Nope 4.4 Connolly - Nope 4.35 Puncheon - Nope 8.1 Good stuff, that's 11 down, 8 to go
Fuller is another one 9 goals in 33 games. Svensson only got 10 goals in 127 appearances for Saints. As mentioned on the international thread, Svensson (now 37) made his 148th appearance for Sweden in the recent qualifier with Portugal. He has played 659 games shared between Sweden senior & u21, Saints and Elfsborg
