Right fellas, we all need to focus on non related FFC stuff. Is anyone getting the PS4? Has anyone just watched The Day of the Doctor? What TV shows are people watching at the moment? What songs are you listening to? Let's talk about anything other than FFC!
Just started playing Clash of the Clans over the last week. I think mainly a teenager's game but lots of strategy and patience is required to build up. Anyone to create a Fulham clan?
Just in for a quick, consoling beer. I'm in the corner on my own looking glum! Even a 40 mile bike ride didn't help.
This is for all who are interested in history and Fulham's legacy. Looking at you, C58. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25055156
After 20+years, on and off, of subscribing to When Saturday Comes, this week they asked me to write something for their website: a preview of our game against Swansea with a focus on how Meulensteen's appointment would affect Jol's situation. If you can bear to think about that game again, it's here: http://www.wsc.co.uk/wsc-daily/1168...ensteen-s-fulham-arrival-buys-martin-jol-time
First an apolopgy, oldnslow - I posted the new thread about Jimmy Hogan before I read this one. It is a great read. I'd always meant to do some kind of follow up about him. Suffice to say this article does the job perfectly.
Kind of says it all really, in your (as always) reasoned way Captain. PS Had to chuckle at the comment by 'Berbaslug'.

He makes a fair point, but in my defence the headline was down to the sub-editor, not me. The bit about Parker and Sidwell originally read 'the chalk and not-quite-as-good-chalk pairing of Parker and Sidwell...', but that didn't make it past the sub-ed. Shame, I was quite pleased with that line, and taking it out slightly changes the point I was making about our central midfield. Oh well, a writer's lot and all that.
My mate Gavin Barber quite often does pieces for WSC (and other publications) and he bemoans the fact that the whole thrust of something he is trying to say gets lost by the sub-editing that takes place so can fully appreciate your frustration with that.
Cheers, fulhaman. I'll look out for his name in future issues. Now that I've got a foot in the door, I'm going to try to get stuff in the actual magazine. I'll keep you all posted (on the self-aggrandising assumption that anyone is interested!)
1. No. I'm going all-out PC this generation. 2. Sons of Anarchy and (begrudgingly) The Walking Dead. 3.
Follow him on Twitter and he will follow you back - if you search for him you'll find him. He chats all the time with everyone so don't be shy in talking to him. He gave my son advice on some of his blog stuff and even promoted it for him. All round good guy. He will probably have a strong Ipswich theme as he is an avid supporter.
Admission - I'm a minor Whovian**. Started at a young age, behind the sofa for the Black+White episodes, then grew-up with Tom Baker. So much build up to The Day of The Doctor - it was everywhere, even on Radio 4! So I was prepared for an over-hyped / undewhelming watch, and then pleasantly surprised by a reasonable storyline, with a few surprises, albeit a little twee in places. The cast mix worked well. ** If you want to know what a major Whovian looks like try The Gallifrey Times... or the Gallifrey One for the few Americans. OK Bandit, enough diversion - I'm bored now - just want my team back.....
My one man campaign to storm the gates of When Saturday Comes continues unabated. The latest issue arrived on my doorstep yesterday, and they've printed my letter. Here it is: Dear WSC, Jimmy Pierce laments the shortage of genuine utility players today (Utility Room, WSC 322), but your picture editor failed to recognise another of the breed lurking uncredited in the photographs accompanying Jimmy's article. Pictured alongside Blackpool's Chris Basham is none other than former Fulham variety act Chris Baird. After a rocky start as Lawrie Sanchez's (and no one else's) preferred right back, Baird was rehabilitated by Roy Hodgson and become an important figure in Fulham's journey to the 2010 Europa League final. Baird featured in 16 of Fulham's 18 matches, including the final itself, and played over 50 times that season in all competitions. In the Europa run alone he appeared at right-back, left-back, centre-back and centre-midfield. Even that doesn't tell the full story of his versatility. When used in midfield he is mostly thought of as a holding player alongside more gifted playmakers such as Danny Murphy or (ahem) Jonathan Greening. However on occasions - including the famous 4-1 victory over Juventus - Baird was paired with Dickson Etuhu and called upon to take the more creative role himself. After initial fan derision, Baird transformed himself into a favourite at the Cottage. Punching Jimmy Bullard in training endeared him to some, while two spectacular goals against Stoke City prompted the affectionate nickname of Bairdinho. His departure this summer leaves Fulham with no similar all-rounders, but current form suggests that mastering the art of just one position is challenging enough for some of Baird's former team-mates. They even put in a nice photo of Baird and team-mates celebrating one of the goals against Stoke, resplendent in that horrible green kit that I'd managed to forget all about.
Don't think my question warrants a thread - anyone know if the Stevenage ticket office is open all day up to kick off tomorrow? Can see 9-5 weekdays on the website, not sure if they will shut for an hour maybe?
Don't know if this helps silky: " From 5pm, any remaining tickets will still be available to buy from the Ticket Office on Stevenage Road." http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2013/december/04/last-spurs-tickets?utm_source=Social&utm_medium=AllSocial&utm_campaign=TB
