Wasn't that part of his punchline though knowing it was a river, he'd have had a funny ready in case anyone answered. He's got a dog called Tiger as well
By the way last time we played both yourselves and Everton I had plastic bottles of Fanta thrown at me.When telling this to friends one of them asked me if I am sure it was Fanta.
Was that at City Hall a couple of years back when there was a blizzard outside & the ****ing heating broke?
I have to say I've never seen it but tales of it always emerge when clubs who haven't had a lot of time in the same division as Liverpool or Everton, are promoted up. That's not meant as a dig either btw. I think it's more in the folklore realm. There's no spurs, Chelsea, arsenal, etc fans talking about it.
I do find these polls odd. I have been to 'Swansea Bay' a fair few time to visit an ex-misses who went to uni there. Got a real nice backdrop of industrial Port Talbot One of those ones where you go to take a picture and have to move people. Still not the worst place. Not a big fan of Birmingham.
No.This was the next time he came over.My mate went to the one when Bish did his act with his overcoat on.You can guess what he said about that display of being a wuss.I know someone who went to his 1st show in a small theatre here and he was brilliant and spent ages after doing photos with the audience despite knowing his next tour at bigger venues was nearly sold out.Real decent guy.My friend did however lose his watch that night and his missus is still looking for her necklace
When to Liverpool t'other day. Reminded me of Hull in a lot ways. Port cities definitely have a similar atmosphere.
The one I'm on about was booked just before he became a 'stadium' act. I wasn't aware he'd been back to the city since, where was the gig mate?
You never even made it out of Hull mate, were going around in circles all day due to the cheap wine effect.
He did City Hall when I saw him .His 1st was at Hull Truck theatre. The big freeze was either Hull New Theatre or at City Hall. When I saw him I think they were already selling Stadia tickets. I have never seen a comedian at a stadium-do not fancy it to be honest.
Have a look at the "Black Boy Pub" Tread on our board and it will give you some interesting information.
Just read it through, thanks for that. Some interesting comments. You do know it wasn't anyone on here saying Hull was a slave port, it was a comment in the Telegraph [your thread seemed to suggest it was someone here, apologies if I have that wrong]. We have a slavery museum here in Liverpool - the city carries the shame of what happened during the slave trading days and wants to remember it as a memorial to those who suffered and to educate people so it will never happen again. One of the comments on your thread said Liverpool was one of the biggest slave ports in Europe - that's wrong - shamefully, it was the only slave port in Europe.
