The latest was in Nice who are in a fantastic new stadium. The confrontations would be headline news in the UK but it's commonplace here. St Etienne supporters arrived on Friday night and there was trouble in the city over two days which culminated in serious bother before and after the match. There were dozens of people 'pepper sprayed' and truncheoned in clashes with riot police. The good news is that the weather's still canny and it was warm enough for a dip in the sea. "The French league warned it could ban away supporters from matches after nine fans were injured before Nice's Ligue 1 game against St Etienne on Sunday." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25083615
But surely it's only a British disease isn't it and has never occurred on mainland Europe before? Mmmm!
Message to the board from sunderlandstu. "Please, no more posts about anything other than Sunderland being in trouble until further notice."
