I love football, I don't mind genuine banter about being a female supporter, I don't mind being teased about (supposedly) not knowing about the offside rule it's not that that annoys me at all-in fact I find all that quite amusing - it's the nastiness towards people who don't have the same opinion as other posters that is annoying and will drive people away from this site - including me!
Welcome aboard. Obviously you're welcome on any thread but there's a fair few expats on the board, you could have your own discussions when it's night time here and you've the board to yourselves. It'd be like an episode of the Borrowers when we get up in the morning.

I always think I should post more but never really do. Part of it for me is that I don't get to that many games anymore so can't comment on matches as much - and therefore like to read to see what others are saying. Pretty much managed to watch every game on a stream this season however so that's not too much of an excuse. I think a big part of it for me is that there are some posters on here who have very different views to me and it seems that if you try to post contradictory views you'll just get dragged into a slanging match and called a ****. Can't be arsed with that really, I don't need to come on here to be called a ****, happens enough in real life as it is. I do enjoy the nostalgia threads though, I could quite happily debate whether Simon Trevitt or Andy Brown had the more sticky out ears.
I'm also a lurker/reader, always have been. I read to get all supporter perspectives on the games, both build up and aftermath and generally post to ask questions that I consider relevant to myself. I can get most info from what I read and it doesnt seem necessary to post for the sake of it. Examples of my posts include in the Summer when I asked for tips before I headed to Portugal for the Wednesday game and earlier this season I made some enquiries regarding the best parking spots for Newcastle away. I asked the questions because I hadnt seen them addressed elsewhere. So far any other questions I have had have been addressed in various threads that I have read. Short of posting "Thanks" or "That was really useful" I felt there was no need to contribute.
Interesting that this thread prompts me to action. I think I don't want to be a lurker. Too negative. I read everything, everyday because I want to be informed. Mainly I don't comment due to geography and few games attended. Brought up in Bilton Grange I left Hull in 1967, having watched Bill Bradbury through Waggy/Chilton. Everywhere I've been since then I have watched local teams + every opportunity to watch City and in the last 30 years every game around the south coast, including FA Cup at Salisbury and the game at Saints where Peter Skipper was announced in goal, not a happy night. Anyway, pre internet had Sports Mail delivered every week - exciting Weds. So now my Dad, there from the 40's, including the record crowd and the Raich Carter era, and me argue and debate every day. So we silent ones are still involved emotionally every moment. My most recent game was at Saints and otherwise rely on Sky. So, what do I think. We so need some pace up front and some quick thinking creativity that recognises the that crosses are not everything. For OLM, first parked my Lambretta in Paragon Square in 1967. Long time ago.
My first visitor message received shortly after registering on this site and posting from a female perspective was very succinct. " Back in the Kitchen. NOW!" It is still there!
I am always reading, but as others have said, which seems even more applicable being down under, by the time you have a reply to most things someone has already said what you have. Also by the time i read things the moment has gone with some of the threads. I am also another one who sometimes will not post a reply or join a debate as quite often they just descend into you being called whatever, just because someone doesn't have a debatable reply. Or they have to make out they are the greatest fan Hull City has ever seen, and they have been going since the dark days etc etc and just because you are down under you can't possibly have a relevant opinion, or you haven't been going long enough to comment. How many times does that get thrown up in an argument thats a poster has been going longer than you, so must be that one Super Fan. In reality who cares how long people have been going for. My last game before emigrating was the Wembley final, and on the run up to the Watford game a guy at work was saying how he wanted to go as he had never been before, but didn't like to as other people might think he was just jumping on the bandwagon. So i said does it really matter when you get on? We all decided to go and watch City at some point whether it was in Division 4 or 5 minutes before Wembley, and opinions are no less relevant whenever you jumped on the bandwagon. I do like the nostalgia threads though, whether its about City or Hull itself, and love seeing the pictures even modern day ones as most of the time you don't realise what fantastic buildings Hull actually has, especially the Old Town. Obviously i don't mean The Big Greenhouse in the Dock...... Anyway thats my opinion, and i do stick the very odd comment in every now and then.
I haven't actually ridden a scooter for years, but I finally decided to get one back on the road and had it dropped back off on Saturday morning in full working order with a new MOT, so I spent Sunday tootling up and down the drive(it's an Italian import that's never been UK registered, so I've got a bit of paperwork to sort before I get her out on the road).
Dutch, credit where it's due, this is probably the finest thread I've seen you create, and is actually the best one on the forum's first couple of pages. It reminds me of gentler, happier times on these forums. OLM have you shifted that Mini yet?
I bet he's thrilled with it, even if he wants to change it at some point. Christ, if he ISNT grateful he needs a slap. Kids today eh?
