I totally f****** despair of some people on here sometimes. Given the choice of where we are now, playing the football we are (and trust me, it ain't THAT f****** bad) or playing the most amazing, exciting football ever but being third from bottom, I think the vast majority of right minded people would choose the former.
That's a couple of times that you've mentioned the atmosphere Dave. I have to say that I think it depends on where you are in the ground. I was in P block and I can tell you that there was no way that Charlton out-sang us. We hardly heard them all game!! We were singing virtually throughout the match with endless renditions of "Harry Redknapp's blue army". It sounded quite loud from where we were sitting, although I know the sound doesn't seem to travel to the other end of the ground. I agree though that more blocks could/should join in, like S and T for example.
Wasn't there on Saturday....but every time I have sat in or near the loft, the atmosphere has been soo great...The one time I have sat at the other end, bottom tier of the school...couldn't hear a thing. No i wonder why that is.....acoustics may explain it I think. Oddball go and sit in the loft...and you won't be able to hear yourself think....
Agree Staines on your trousers ... I have egg on my face as per Harold but he has us winning and controlling matches ... The crowd at LR are the problem
Nope won't have that .... sat around the ground over the years and been in with away fans many times. The only time the crowd cheered Sat was the goal and the final whistle. It is currently well below our standards At the school end ... the reason i go there there is a great opportunity to feel the force from the other three sides of the ground and many times i have seen the shock on the visitors faces and LR has a reputation of atmosphere It's not here at the moment and it needs addressing ... we are poor as the 12th man at the moment
Re the atmosphere.....just to throw something out there for discussion.....has it anything to do with the fact that the past 2 seasons were so poor that the crowd are a bit reluctant to let loose with the singing etc as we had virtually forgotten how to win...... This season is different but when we are only a goal up there is always a nervy edge immaterial of how controlled the game is.....I'm sure that when the occassion happens and we get a couple ahead and look to score again the LR faithful will re-discover their voices.....
Nope!! You need to get your ears checked mate! It wasn't fantastic on Saturday, but we were singing during most of the game........you just couldn't hear us at the other end of the ground. As I said..........we couldn't hear Charlton's fans either.
I think there's a lot in that mate. On Saturday, even though Charlton hardly threatened and were pretty awful, it still felt apprehensive at just 1-0.
In order for LR to rock it needs all sections to try a lot harder IMO It's simply not up to the standard I expect if anyone at the game didn't hear the Charlton songs then they are deaf ... My last three matches Seagulls Derby and Charlton all three have sung you fans are a disgrace I want more Let's be having you The currents QPR fan is simply watching we all know we are Nines can see me and I can see his phone 3rd picture on his phone is of a nice blonde lady
You need to get up the other end and stop this love-in with the away fans mate. We couldn't hear ANYTHING from the Charlton fans at our end.
Our squad in comparison to the rest of the championship equates to that of a manchester team. When a single player like Barton or SWP is earning more than a whole team, you expect more than just trying to scrape a 1-0 against them and to defend a goal lead as soon as we score.
I couldnt hear anything below them but was in A block for Derby and they sounded like the best fans all season while I only heard us twice. It really does depend on where you sit because the sound does not travel to the other end unless all 3 sides are going.
Why does everyone think they are mutually exclusive. Where Charlton so good that we would have not won if we tried for a 2nd goal? What do you want, goals and a win or a 1-0 or 0-0 every week? Fair enough in the PL when teams are better than us but we should be so much better than them considering the money spent yet we are playing like youd expect yeovil or doncaster to play.
