We've got; Sunday the 1st of December Manchester City v Swansea city Wednesday the 4th of December Swansea City v Newcastle Monday the 9th of December Swansea v Hull Sunday the 15th of December Norwich v Swansea City Sunday the 22nd of December Swansea City v Everton Thursday the 26th of December Chelsea v Swansea City Saturday the 28th of December Aston Villa v Swansea City
How do you see each fixture panning out? How many points do we need to get from these fixtures? How many could we get (realistically)? What position in the table do you think we'll have come the new year?
I was looking the other day, we have a fair few televised games coming up too. DECEMBER 1) Swansea v Newcastle - BT Sports (04/12/13) 2) Swansea v Hull - Sky Sports (09/12/13) 3) Everton v Swansea - Sky Sports (22/12/13) JANUARY 1) Swansea v Man City - Sky Sports (01/01/14) 2) Man United v Swansea - Sky Sports (11/01/14) 3) Swansea v Tottenham - Sky Sports (19/01/14) There are no current TV fixtures available after the 20th Jan (sky), 29th Jan (BT) however we do play both Cardiff and Liverpool in February, which I can see being televised too.
Sorry replied before seeing your second post, so didn't realise the nature of the topic, but as you have asked. Manchester City v Swansea city - 0 points Swansea City v Newcastle - 3 points Swansea v Hull - 3 points Norwich v Swansea City - 1 point Swansea City v Everton - 0 points Chelsea v Swansea City - 0 points Aston Villa v Swansea City - 1 point If we however pick up the tempo, we could pick up a point against Everton, and beat both Villa and Norwich, for a total of 13 So between 8-13 points from the 21 points available
I don't see us getting anything at Man City but I'm hoping they don't dent our goal diff too much - that could be really important. We'll struggle at Chlesea but we may get lucky and pick up a point. The rest are all winnable imo but realistically I think we'll get about 7 or 8. Let's hope that's enough to keep us out of trouble. I saw enough at Fulham to make me think we'll be mid-table again this season.
hoping for 11pts minimum...... wins against Newcastle, Hull, Norwich draws or wins against everton and villa outside chance of point at chelsea not holding out for too much at citeh but then again who would have had us down for the result at valencia.
My two penneth; Want - 13 points Manchester City v Swansea city - 0 points Swansea City v Newcastle - 3 points Swansea v Hull - 3 points Norwich v Swansea City - 3 points Swansea City v Everton - 3 points Chelsea v Swansea City - 0 points Aston Villa v Swansea City - 1 point Need - 7 points Manchester City v Swansea city - 0 points Swansea City v Newcastle - 1 point Swansea v Hull - 3 points Norwich v Swansea City - 1 point Swansea City v Everton - 1 point Chelsea v Swansea City - 0 points Aston Villa v Swansea City - 1 point I think we should be between 10th and 12th come the 1st of January
That's a lot of games for one month. Any european games in December or are they all done this month until the new year?
I'm going to have to do my home work before giving my predictions, but I do see wins against Hull, Norwich, Villa, and Newcastle as very achievable!..............
We've got St.Gallen away on Thursday the 12th of December. It's not in December but I suppose this Thursday's game at home to Valencia can be seen as the start of this run.
I can see 11 points that i would be happy with but its going to be very hard to do. the xmas fixtures usually throw up some odd results but i would be disappointed if we got anything less than 9pts...
Minimum of 8pts possibly 10/11pts. That will give us 23 - 25pts from 20 games. Could have been knocking on for 30 if certain officials had behaved themselves!
just a couple of silly question re the scheduling Default December's Premier fixtures We've got; Sunday the 1st of December Manchester City v Swansea City - understand this due to the Valencia match - (zero points) Wednesday the 4th of December Swansea City v Newcastle - obviously I havnt looked but is this a full round of fixtures? - 1 point (possibly 0 or 3) Monday the 9th of December Swansea v Hull - if we are playing St Gallen on the 12th why isn't this a Sunday match? - you would think 3 points Sunday the 15th of December Norwich v Swansea City - why isn't this a Saturday match? - 1 point (possibly 0 or 3) Sunday the 22nd of December Swansea City v Everton - ditto - cannot see why we can't win however will go for a point Thursday the 26th of December Chelsea v Swansea City - zero Saturday the 28th of December Aston Villa v Swansea City - 1 point however as with Newcastle or Norwich we can win it so worst case 3, normal case 7, best case as an optimist a dozen would be nice
Yes this is a full round of fixtures Being televised on Monday night football, and think re-arranged games are in effect for after the europa leagues, not before, as here is still 2 full days between the games We are playing ST Gallen on the Thursday, so we cannot play on the Saturday. On sunday as it is being televised. Those last 2 are a piss take, as 1 day of rest between them, and both away, so a fair bit of travelling.
thanks for your quick response swanselona, I never have to worry about the match being televised as they all are (or 99%) so I don't think of that reasoning. to be honest I cannot see how fans get the cash to travel to all the games especially with quick turnarounds.
I'm not sure how many points we are likely to get, but I think we should be aiming for 11 points from the next 21. Bare minimum for me would be 8 points. What I think we could achieve: Man City (A) - L Newcastle (H) - W Hull (H) - W Norwich (A) - W Everton (H) - D Chelsea (A) - L Villa (A) - D All of these results are realistic IMO. This isn't an easy run of games by any means so I think we should be prepared for a rough ride, particularly if City batter us. I'd be very happy if were still midtable at new year.# EDIT - On reflection, maybe we could beat Everton under Robbo? Moyes always had us worked out but we gave Wigan a torrid time usually. Though of course Everton have much better players.
The average amount of points the average Swans fan expects from the next 7 games (so far) is 9 points. Which can't be far away from our overall average in the Premiership...indicates people see this season as business as usual....no panic and no excessive expectations.
