Man Utd and Cardiff last season - both won their respective leagues. Amber Nectar get it spot on as always. As for Bruce I don't know if he's being nudged into talking about this but he really needs to start ignoring any questions on it, assuming he can do that without risking for his job. The idea that singing CTID will harm the team's performances is just laughable.
well that would be great wouldn't it?? shame the fans only opened their mouths while they was acting like morons wrestling with stewards instead of getting behind the team for the full game, should take a leaf out of cardiffs book they are going through owner issues but still back the team 100% and they grabbed a point against utd.
Don't be so ****ing rude you arsehole. Other Hull people, on here, are saying that's not the case. You're just guessing unless you can provide a quote.
How come you didn't make a noise for the rest of the game then? Surely you're not saying it's all down to CTWD to generate support for the team?
Philip Buckingham ‏@PJBuckingham RE SB's quotes on the protests, he wasn't attempting to shift blame for the display. Far from it. Accepted #hcafc simply not good enough.
Agree completely. I am beginning to think some people have gone soft with what they think is confrontational and what isn't. Anyone on the board go to Burnley away in the late seventies? Bob Lord was the chairman of Burnley at the time and for some reason or another the fans wanted him gone. At some point during the game the Burnley fans unveiled a long banner that ran from from one penalty area to the other with the words " Bob Lord is a Bastard". Now if the banner had said words to that effect on Saturday instead of "We are Hull City" I could understand it being considered offensive and rightfully subject to removal by the stewards. No doubt in my mind it was the heavy-handedness of the stewards in over-reacting to an inoffensive banner that caused confrontation and the ensuing distraction on Saturday
Yeah, I remember that game. We were on the Long Side cheek by jowl with their fans which made for a great atmosphere, as it must have been three times as deep as Kempton was. They kept up a 'Bob Lord Out' chant for most of the game, lots of fisticuffs and people getting led out. Back then they seemed like a big club just relegated out of Div One and above our level. Well look at us now!
A massive danger to all sides as a consequence of Saturday is that we develop protest fever, where some get more engrossed in the protest than in the reasons behind it. I think we all need to keep reminding ourselves that the debate is simply about the proposed name change, it's not a personal battle with the chairman or a challenge to the stewards. Some of us want to remain as Hull City AFC, that is all.
A certain steward confirmed it. I'd take his word above a load of slow ******s who think they're in the know!
He will be going due to the actions of a stupid selfish owner, not the peaceful demonstrations of fans.
I think some people need to give there heads a bang. A bit of protesting before/during or after a game is not what is causing us to play poorly!! And if any of the management including brucie try to say it is, then they are lying. Put it this way, if the company you worked for was discussing changing names, would it affect your work?? I think not. Mark my words Papa Allam has shown the type of man he is (ie very petty) and Brucie knows that if he says the wrong thing and gets on the wrong side of him, then he will be shown the door, no matter how well he is or has done.
Oh, a 'certain steward' who obviously wasn't trying to pass the buck and absolve himself of blame to the supporters? Strange how he's only just come to mind when you were asked to provide a quote tbh. Or was I right to question DMD when he said he didn't believe the owner played any part in it?
There is no proof that the owner ordered the hi viz hit squad into action on saturday, however much he may have disliked the flags and even if he did, it could never be proven. I'm not even sure the stewards or who 'commands' them really knew what they were doing. We all know the stewards are not very bright, consistent or professional- their panicky response was fairly typical of their abject standards in recent years. They love to goad home fans while curiously turning a blind eye to indiscretions in the North stand. It's wrong to lay their sins at the door of Assem Allam.
The steward got a buzz in his ear, but that's from the control box, Assam was in his seat at the time. Instructed or not, it was dealt with poorly and shouldn't have been dealt with at all. It's immaterial anyway.
