How does everyone feel about the use of the word 'lol'? Is it taking over the world as we know it? I've been getting texts recently that really only contains the words 'Morning lol' I feel 'lol' has a controlling effect on people and it's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt.
I used to think it meant "lots of love" which was a bit scary when getting text messages from your mates

a saw a facebook viral thing that showed a woman saying 'my thots are with your family at the tragic time lol' because she thot the same thing
It can change the whole context of an actual text:- ''What the **** did you say that for?'' ''What the **** did you say that for? lol'' The first one sounds crabit and probably hungry
it was em ****ing yanks in the early yahoo chat days who started it. Then some other yank started LMAO because LOL wasn't a big enough hit. After that the world went a bit mad with a bit of LMFAO to signify that you were indeed actually laughing rather than responding to everything that is slightly positive with a lol statement.
i refuse to use lol. the mrs used to get pissed off because i would text her saying "haha" or "thats funny" in stead of lol. we shousr replace lol with something along the lines of "im a **** who is to lazy and lacks the imagination to contribute to this conversation in a meaningful way."
I remember a whole meltdown just because JB said ***got and mcfud didn't like the word.....sure he banned it. Can't think of any others. I mind the time mcfud flooded 606 with wallpapers he made for people to try get them to sign up to the dark side. They were ****ing pish
