Fair play to him, he's been thrown in to the deep end twice but he can certainly come away with his head held high.

I thought he got left isolated too many times against Mirallas, but boy did he grow in to the game and he deserves a lot of credit, and so does Rodgers for being ballsy and playing him. Confident on the ball, quick across the floor and made numerous vital interceptions.. And that's playing on the left.

Hope to see more of him in the coming weeks with Enrique out, well done lad. <applause>

Thought he was great defensively and fair play, I didn't think he could hack it at this level and thought he'd be flogged in the summer. Barely made an impact past the half way line until the 80th minute, so we really missed the attacking outlet and width that Enrique provides, but impressed overall with his performance.

I was sceptical and he had a dodgy first 20 minutes but seemed to then get into the game and was probably the only defender that can hold his head up high.

He loves a tackle, think we all know that and when he gets it right he's good, however does always have that tendency of giving away free kicks.

Overall, a good day for him and was the kind of performance he put in against City & Arsenal 2 years ago when he made his debut.

Was ****ing better than Johnson, that's for sure.

  5. He had a very good game. He was also one of the two defenders (other being Skrtel) when we were getting outnumbered on the counter attack. The pair of them and Migs did very well in those situations today.

Migs was a 9/10 for me today, says a lot considering we conceded three!

Agree with Mig. Kept us in it, my only thing is he could have done better with Lukaku's goal. He got a hand on it and just pushed it into the corner but can't be too harsh on him.

  7. He got his hand to it but Lukaku was only eight yards out so he did the get to it imo

Had a shaky start but was our best defender in the 2nd half. Made a few key interceptions and seems quite comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Well done Flanno, the boy did well considering.

One thing I have noticed is he's not so rash anymore, and doesn't go flying into tackles all Matthish.

I notice this mainly because I always put a fiver on him getting sent off - and never win these days.

Grew into the match. 8/10 for him today. He did however lose confidence when Lukaku went rampant for 10 minutes. This I can understand, he was left alone against 2-3 sometimes. Skrtel needed to do better and Johnson should have not lost the ball so many times. Agger could have covered too but he did have his own players to worry about.

Well done Flanno - he was never going to contribute going forward but he did the basics right. Actually looked decent in possession as well.

And he was outnumbered a number of times today, midfield was ****. Well, it makes the decision to bring Sakho in ahead of either Skrtel/Agger a whole lot easier now.

Flano was far better than in the Arsenal game, perhaps as he was playing on the left today and in a less attacking position.

Flanno had a good game today, he seems to be a better LB than Cissokho at this point.

Thought he grew into the role today. Certainly showed Johnson how to tackle and not be cuaght out of position.

Was one of the better players today and felt he grew into the game really well. Certainly wasn't making the glaring errors a few of our other more senior players were. As said above he looks a hell of a lot more solid than Cissokho has so far.

I think it helped that he was playing more as a full back in this game than a wing back like he did against Arsenal.

When he came into the team he looked good and really gave hope but he's stagnated since then which made me think he'd be out the club when the first offer came in but fair play to him he's stuck around obviously worked hard as Rodgers can't praise his attitude enough and for that I think he deserves out support.

I rated him today. Grew when he knew his job was to defend rather than attack.

Don't think he can do the job when expected to go forward but here; is that not the point? Difficult to buy the complete player so buy best fits for specific styles until you can afford to buy the package player?
