Defoe a better goal scorer but a lot older

 

and Defoe will want an arm and a leg in wages.

 

If defoe is available then we should break the bank to sign him, he's on another planet to long and the rest of our strikers. 6 million would be a steal

 

I cant see us getting Defoe on a perm deal, he will want 3-4 years on a fair whack to see him off into retirement. A loan until the end of the season would be our only hope, but I cant see Spurs allowing that.

 

How will "we" pay for either of those? I'm fairly certain we're not in profit yet are we?

 

Long is the only option as there is no chance of Defoe

Long is a far better all round player who would link the team much better but Defoe a far better goalscorer. I'd say we need a goalscorer more than anything to finish our already good play. I dont care how old he is, you'd get 3 years out of him.

But it's academic cos we really shouldnt be paying his wages unless he takes a 50% cut.

When Defoe came on against us at White Hart Lane, I'm not sure he even touched the ball. He was very anonymous. I would prefer Long, if it was a straight choice.

 

If we get Defoe I will praise lord Allam....not gonna happen though

But we do have Thudd and Livermore to convince Defoe about Hull.
Who would have thought we could attract either of them two at the end of last season.

 

Totally agree. Long would be my choice and suits our style better. And his best years are ahead of him...not behind him.

 

Depends who they sign, like Chelsea with De Bruyne the move doesn't pose a threat to them. We don't pose a threat to them in the league table, and the player would be unable to face them to take points off them. At the same time they could enable us to knock points off their rivals. In Tottenham's case as well we have the Livermore situation as a bargaining point. We want him permanently and could offer a cash deal in January to assist their spending if they loan us Defoe, rather than waiting until the summer if they dont.
