In his lunch time press conference today, Jol confirmed that Hangeland is still unfit and Duff is also ruled out. Hugo is 2-3 weeks away from resuming training and as known Riether is not available. The shock news is that young Moussa Dembele is in the squad. [Doubt if heâll be in the match day 18 though] With Rene apparently working his high intensity magic at Motspur Park this last week or so, and despite our record of international âbounce backâ performances, I think the starting line-up will primarily involve the players left at home. The only exception I reckon will be Stekelenburg who sat on the bench for the Netherlands two games . Of the others, Dejagah who scored for Iran with his wrong foot, is the only one in real contention, but I think even he will be held on the bench. The Rene influence will be to control the midfield (at last!) and also to give the errant Berbatov a pivotal but ârovingâ role - lovely though it would be to see Dembele. For those reasons we wont start with conventional wingers. Jol didn't mention Bryan so he will be in the squad but I can't see him starting. The starting XI then - â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦.Stkelenburgâ¦â¦â¦â¦. ..Zveroticâ¦..Hughesâ¦Amorbietta,,,,Richardsonâ¦. â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦Boatengâ¦â¦â¦â¦ â¦â¦â¦â¦Parkerâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦Sidwellâ¦. â¦â¦.Kasamiâ¦â¦..Berbatovâ¦â¦â¦â¦Taarabtâ¦
I would go for that selection but maybe sub Sidwell with Kara.... or even Adel with Kara. Kara played left up front behind their front man in the game of Greece against Roumania in the first half and he caused some real trouble.
Moussa Dembele in the squad hallelujah! I'd actually like to see Dembele start, perhaps ahead of Taarabt who has been utter garbage and doesn't pass(just a s*** Berbatov)
According to Sarah Brookes in today's internal video interview Jol has a "spring in his step". And he himself expects more "tempo" from the team.
Really encouraged to hear big mart talking about getting our style of play sorted first and foremost. We have to start taking the game to our opposition and letting them deal with us not the other way around. I hope Jol will have done some homework on Swansea but love hearing him mention our football.
Could that mean Boateng in front of the back four and Parker and Kasami in front of him higher up the pitch ?
With the sun shining from the Riverside stand will Fulham kick towards the Hammersmith in the first half after what happen to the linesman v Man Utd. Lets hope for a better team performance then of late and a win would be great. Need to get our home form back. Now we are third from bottom we don't want teams above us getting 6-8 points in front of us, otherwise we will always be playing catch up.
The referee is the apologist Mr Marriner (yet again!!!) please log in to view this image PS Mr Moss is the linesman likely to be on the sunny side. Another poo wallah!
Oh dear... Will try and calm down before any further comments. Off to the pub. Just get ready for relegation! Not relegation battle.
Hapless and hopeless. And that was just the team - Swansea only needed to turn up to win that one. As for the management - clueless The team selection was all wrong. You cannot start with three No.10s especially when two of them don’t even break into a trot - when will Jol learn! There was no evidence of ‘holding the ball’ - the only sign was Hughes and Amorebietta going very wide to receive kick outs but it was then all kick and hope. In the first half there were the two sitters missed by Bent. Those however came from defensive errors not decisive play by us. And the possible penalty when Kasami was brought down. The flaws in our play were there for all to see though. Second half we didn’t come out at the start. Then there were the substitutions - bizarre as usual. Nobody seemed to know where they were meant to play as the new players were drip fed into the game . And Darren Bent on the right wing???? We were totally disorganised. The buck starts and stops with Jol. He sent out the wrong team, failed to motivate them at half time and went on to create an even more disorganised outfit with his substitutions. I’m sorry but he has to go before he completely ruins our Club.
I've just seen the match statistics. Even in my depressed state at the game, I didn't realise it was this bad. Fulham: Shots 9 On Target 3 Possession 37% Corners 8 Fouls 11 Swansea: Shots 21 On Target 5 Possession 63% Corners 8 Fouls 9 What a mess we're in!
You don't need the stats to tell you that.... I am seriously depressed tonight. I want Jol out now... There is no saving with him on the helm.
I was castigated in many posts on this forum some 12 months ago when in my view Jol had not a clue, hopefully the club will have the guts to get rid of this incompetant now,and let RM take over and run the show. this will give him several weeks to reform the training methods to his liking and identify who should be in and out in the transfer window. For if this clown Jol is allowed to continue. RM will be tainted by association ,without being given the chance to be his own man. So come on Fulham pay him off at let him retire on his 3m = salery and grow tulips .
