In the Mail article he did say that Allam was from a different culture and that we Brits are pretty dogged with regard to tradition (or words to that effect), which to me says that he doesn't agree with it but as has been said previously, no one is going to change Allams mind. More to the point he said earlier on Radio 5 live that all this hoohah was a 'distraction' to the team so let's hope this isn't this years version of the Manchester City half time team talk!
he's right though. IF AA doesn't back down. and IF CTWD carry on stubbornly it could ruin our club and season more than a name change.
the only antagonist here is Dr Ass - he started this whole sorry episode, he's soured the whole season, he's pissing off the fans and the manager, he's made the national press for all the wrong reasons, he's a total laughing stock in football, he's embarrassing himself and the club internationally, he talks of selling 185million shirts worldwide - the **** can't even stock the club shop - if it was any other club we'd all be rolling around laughing our heads off at him
So why can't he call it Hull tigers while he is here and when he leaves (as i doubt he'll be here this long) the new owner can win brownie points for giving us back our heritage.
it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that that is what will happen, but alienating sizeable swathes of longstanding supporters isn't the best way to leave a legacy.
don't be daft, why would we be - we are where we are - Dr Ass has gone off on one and either needs to get a reality check or get sectioned and his son needs to get a Power of Attorney and take control as he's clearly losing his compos mentis, which is a shame but it does happen at his age
not this old chestnut again.. the names changed, either move on or quit supporting the club - either way, quit your bitching cos you won't achieve owt.
so much for this PAPA ****! he hasn't done anything for our club. he has LOANED us the cash and charging us interest. So in reality, we're loaning the club from him? I hope he ****s off soon!
It is getting very boring all this now. Thankfully we are back to football matters on the pitch. Well most are. He did well with his answers to the issue. But he has more important matters to deal with, starting with Palace. Only because he must be fed up of it taking the shine off what is a very good PL season so far. The only good thing about the name change issue is that very little was said in the aftermath of the Saints game.
IF a massive IF i know, but IF Allam delivers what he says and big money is spent either in january or in the summer most will simply forget this whole issue. PL football and better quality players will see to that.
And if big money is spent you can guarantee MR Allam will be laughing all the way to the bank with his 6% interest
Well said. The youth of today, I ast you. To be pacific, I'm chomping at the bit to correct any mispronounciations myself. Anyway, enough of this. Expresso time.
No it isn't about that French Tickler and people won't 'forget' about it , the name change is a massive issue for a lot of fans regardless of spending on players
Remember the Judgement of Solomon ? 2 Women arguing over who was the mother of a baby ? Solomon ajudged for the baby to be cut in two and each woman keep half. The true mother backed down - she'd rather have her baby live with another woman then be killed. True mother and baby were reunited. If this name change stand-off progresses to the detriment of the club and threatens to tear the club in half then maybe CTWD should back down and let AA have his way. We'll endure pain for a few years but in the knowledge that our baby is still alive and that we will be reunited with it in the future.
On the face of it I fully agree with this, however there would be nothing at all to stop him inserting a clause in the sale agreement that insisted the name remained as Hull Tigers AFTER the sale had been completed.
