What i am actively seeking to encourage is clarity on the rules, a wum is a wum, and if a super mod is the culprit do you not agree that they should be treated the same as all other posters ITIWRAN

 

I'll make this clear for you. Simply Posh is a supermod like me, i would not and will not ever be banning her. However, nor would it be my position too. Take your argument to the site owner and see if he has got time to keep obliging your repetition. He's the boss. For the second time I have pointed you in the right direction to resolve your qualm.

 

Simplistic view of things Mab. Put like that you have a fair point however you still choose to ignore the bigger picture and why these actions were taken.

Mabon - have to confess that I'm a little bewildered by this crusade to get a ban for Minxy from the Swans board? ... personally I can't really see any 'vindictive' wumming on her part; no personal insults, name calling, swear words etc - yes she was rather evasive at times about the reasoning behind certain decisions made by the supermods - but that appears to me to be linked to the process of not giving too much away until the 'probability' of making an assertion that Dexter might actually be the alter ego of Dilly (and Jackcymraeg of KDA) became 'far more likely than not'...

An absolute 'no tolerance' on 'wumming' appears to suggest that any alternative opinion or even gentle humour from anyone not a Swans fan is never to be tolerated? ... which sounds uncannily similar to the aims and objectives of this new site?

If that is truly your preference - then that environment is already available having been 'purpose built' to fit its' members?

Personally I would feel constricted in such a sterile environment - which is why I'm here on a multi-board / cross-board-forum.

Your continuing posting and presence suggests that you wish to continue on here (as well as perhaps on the other site)? - why not then just let it go and move on to more interesting and productive discussion topics?

 

The bigger picture is quite simple, if your a super mod you can wum to your hearts content, there is one rule for the mods and a different for us, do not confuse the dilli business with this ITIWRAN because they are different issues, the point i am raising is this, i was warned that wumming would not be tolerated on this forum by valley the other night, now posh openly admits to wumming, and nothing is said, see the difference she is a super mod and i am an ordinary poster, do you see my point ITIWRAN

 

This thread is brilliant, can I shed some light on a few things that may or may not put a spanner in the works....

The ip addressing on vBulletin is not the best and is never 100% accurate, sometimes it can actually pick up the ip of the web hosting your forum is hosted on and that ip is then logged as every users ip address for that day.

With vBulletin you have the option to resolve the ip address which will give you the Exchange from where that ip has come from, again this is never 100% accurate, so the ip addresses that you have for certain members could very well be the ip of the Exchange.

Now knowing that Dilli and Dreyfus live close together, also others have met both, it is totally possible that both are using the same Exchange, therefore it may actually appear that they are using the same ip, as for Dilli, Dreyfus and Dexter having the same ip, could it be at all possible that they work for the same company that is using a proxy or vpn thus giving them identical ip's.

There are many factors to consider when tracing the ip addresses on vBulletin that you can never prove 100% that it's true. Also if you were to do an ip trace on their ip's it will only take you as far as the Exchange, proxy or vpn that they are using.

Again with others claiming that I and jackcymraeg are one of the same, can you really 100% say that that is correct, I'm sorry you can't they are just assumptions, just like you are assuming Dilli, Dreyfus and Dex are the same, I can also guarantee that if you look at ip addresses of other members on not606 you will no doubt notice that they have also shared ip's yet are different people.

So in short you will never know the truth as to who is who unless they tell you directly or you use a specialist internet security consultant to trace ip's further.

I hope this clears some things up for you and remember vBulletin is never 100% accurate!!

 

Posh was having a joke at the expense if those who have wasted the time of the super mods. You mabon were constantly wumming by disrupting threads looking for people to bite. Now this board is not run like a dictatorship but ny patience is now running out. So if you are going to keep posting on here fine, but dont mock the board 'leave' and then return complaining.

Tracing IPs is only part of the picture though. Couple that with timings, style and the content of the posts and you get a clearer picture - it's more than just 'assumptions'.

You don't deny being jackcymraeg only that we can't prove it definitively which speaks volumes. I'm afraid you and your mates have been rumbled. Move along.

Mabon - we're going around in circles. You've yet to explain why someone who leaves the forum (repeatedly), saying all sorts about its management would want 'clarification' or demand answers from anyone. You've made your views clear about Not606 ad nauseum and brb has answered your points (with useful contributions from Fosse).

Please have the good grace to now leave and stop disrupting the forum.

Well I knew something was going on but could not put my finger on it and the same group of posters were ganging up on other fans to get them banned for no reason. I fell foul of that on quite a few occasions and not once was a reason given when you log on. I decided that this was not on and after trying to get hold of the owners of this site i finally found an e-mail address that was based in guernsey. I sent a short e-mail to say a letter will arrive at their office in a few days and i had a response pretty quickly. I asked them to investigate over a period of time our board because it was being run by cyber bullies and they agreed and three weeks later everything came to a head. Let it be known that no bullying of any kind will be tolerated not only our board but everyone elses also...They picked on the wrong person when they picked on me and i make no apologies for what has happened.

 

I suspect many including myself would disagree with you there valley, to be honest with you valley you have shown yourself to be a very poor moderator this week, your job is to moderate everyone who uses the forum , not turn a blind eye to to your super mod colleagues which has been there for everyone to see, you may want to go on the cardiff board to discuss that with your mates

 

The fact you don't deny it is enough proof for me. When you look at other instances of a possible match, those in questions have flat out denied and refused it. You on the other hand have done no such thing.

IP checks are not 100%, nothing is, not even DNA testing ffs, but its a pretty good place to start.

 

I might be wrong here, but I doubt Valley can do anything about supermods, as brb said above. This can only be done by the site owner.

I do agree with others that we've got about as far as we can with this discussion and might aswell move on.

 

I don't need to have any IP evidence regarding Dexter, he was clearly someone's tool on here that back fired, and where is Dexter now? At least the Super mods turned him down on very reasonable evidence, and that's good enough for me, I appreciate that Ip addresses are very difficult to nail down for many technical reasons, and that's made more complex by dynamic IP addressing, and I could go into how easy it would be for someone to have multiple accounts and never be detected, using the same machine, but I won't.


I wish to thank Minxy for her honesty, and I'm happy to move on, I wouldn't like to see here banned as Mabon is trying to achieve, at the end of the day, all we want is a debating chamber for our footy teams, so whatever the manipulation, it did not succeed, pretty sad that some want that sort of control on here, but anyway we move on!...................

I know you'd like to take credit Dai and in fairness I'm sure you did what you said but this has blown up because they tried to pull a fast one and were rumbled, nothing more. If they hadn't they would now be our mods.

This site is the most difficult to manage because we have some strong characters here. But I agree, cutting out the abuse is a good start. I also agree with Mikra, Phil and others.
