Without hearing the conversation, can't say if it is worded wrong by the media guy or by BR. I saw what BR was trying to say but reading that again it does seem "off".
Ffs. The meaning's bleedin' obvious. He said “He is very important but it’s the team that will get us there, not one player." He's obviously trying to deflect the inevitable accusations that we're a one man team (yawn). Just because he doesn't use exactly the phraseology that we might use ourselves is no reason to go picking holes in it or looking for anything deeper.
