Be that as it may Gary. Btw I joined LUST as more of an anti Bates protest, I saw it as signing a glorified 'Bates out' petition, supporting the protest marches etc.
Now the crook has gone, LUST should really take more of a back seat role, as Billy Davies once said..."job done", only this time, it really is

That job is done. Don't think anyone is under the illusion the current lot are the ideal owners either. They are better and will do fine in a short term sort of way. Not so sure Id be thrilled to see them still in place in the same format as present in three years. Personally I welcome input of anyone that may help move the thing along, be it LUST Radebe or whoever. As someone else said, lets wait and see what they all come up with. Great thing now, is there is no rush to get rid of anyone as the ship has stabilised somewhat

I won't attend the meeting because I'll be performing the same actions as was advised during Ken Bates tenure to show our unhappiness which was; don't turn up. However, I never through choice missed a game just because I dislike or disagree with the chairman. I won't however attend a meeting of a group that doesn't speak for me or my views to voice my concern. I will however actively stay away from the club (for the first time in my life) and voice serious discontent if LUST member is ever a part of the board as a fan representative as he would be no spokesman of mine.

As a point, for the play-off final at the millennium stadium we had over 300,000 applications for tickets. I would suspect our worldwide fan-base is easily over a million. When it's taken into account the majority of fans were anti-bates the official club membership system still gained over 30,000 members annually at costs of around £30-40 a head when the only benefit seemed to be priority of away tickets over non-members.
8,000 is an impressive number of members for an unofficial fan-club none-the-less. However, it's a fact that this rolled up during the height of the anti-bates era and I would suspect a significantly lower number if it was an annual membership scheme. GFH have certainly proven to be fan friendly and sensibly visible after all. They may not be mega rich but I feel our club has regained some of its soul and we haven't sold out for a quick fix. I'm happy enough with that.

I may be interested in LUST if anyone could provide me with some simple (factual) intentions and plans of action or indeed purpose?
Currently all I've heard is there is an aim to raise the finances to purchase a minority stake in the club.
I've also heard talk of potentially buying Thorpe Arch or Elland Road as well as an anonymous party who has offered to double whatever the trust raises.

Viduka speaks the truth ... why go to a meeting of a group that means nothing to you? GC, tell us of your intentions, go yo YEP and tell your story in full, make us understand why you're such a good bloke and we are merely "keyboard warriors". I don't ever intend meeting you, because you don't inspire me at all. Interesting to read GFH have withdrawn their offer to Verity to be their guest at the Boro game because of the amount of press around Verity's bid. Interesting to see Lucas talks about "confidentiality". You see GC, what upsets us is that you seek the limelight at every opportunity, even if its not for the good of the club. Now GFH are upset, they've rejected the offer and taken a massively negative step by withdrawing a guest's visitor's badge. This is what you create GC, negativity. You can't keep trying to sweep your rubbish under the carpet with "come to a meeting". People attacked the KKK openly, but that didn't mean they were wrong because they never attended a KKK meeting!! I am concerned that a "supporters club" is actually getting into bed with an unknown investor to try and buy into the club, and even more worrying, trying to buy the stadium. Why? What is your mystery backer's intentions? Do you really expect people to believe your backer will chuck in lots of money for charity? Read carefully GC, and come back with some clarity rather than your Al Capone "come and see me" nonsense. Give us answers and let us decide. Oh, and you still haven't said yes or no to a petition to disband LUST.

    ---------------------------------------

    It's all about you

Now shut the **** up, stop trying to get on the ****ing telly and radio all the time

You don't represent me, a season ticket holder for 24 years not some ****ing pikey from hull, who's only started going to all home games lately and that's probably because of the all the expenses your claiming

And people joined lust as a protest against bates.

Worst thing would be letting you on the board and that's what your after

    Thanks for letting me know but being that I'm a potential LUST member here, can you inform me;
    1) How you work with the foundation?
    2) How you help LUFC fans unfairly treated at home or away?
    3) How you work with the Police or the LCC?

All these things are positive! Can you just give some foundation to these statements which will add some substance to what you're saying. This would only serve to benefit LUST as many fans actively browse these forums as well as contribute.

    Further to this I've just been onto the LUST website. First of all I find it disappointing there is a 'buy-stuff' section on the website, but that's a personal opinion that money for merchandise should go directly to LUFC to benefit the club itself. Below are 3 statements taken directly from LUST's website;

So you have 8,000+ free members or 8,000+ shareholders?
If it's members they apparently have no say in who is elected or the final decision of the trust. It clearly states above, shareholders make decisions, members just get to voice their opinion.
So you must mean 8,000+ shareholders since they are the ones who actually have a democratic vote. So how have LUFC benefited from the £40,000+ raised from membership fee's. I wonder how much you've raised from donations to supplement this too.

To return to you're original final statement 'your entitled to your opinion mate.' True enough, but it turns out you have to be a financially invested member for that opinion to have some substance with LUST.

i said quite clearly you can stick your petition where the sun dont shine mate, LUST is way bigger than me or you.

say what you want, you hide behind a user name and i wont be wasting my time explaining anything to someone who cant make the effort to present as a real person in the real world, you may live your life being faceless mate i'll stick to being real and honest and there for all to see.

further success on behalf of our members through the "Ask Steve" process.

We were asked to assist a member who was the subject of a lifetime banning order on attending away games. This order was imposed by the Club.

Our member was convicted of disorder after a game with Cardiff. He was imprisoned in a Young Offenders Institution and subjected to an 8 year court imposed Football Banning Order. Our member fully accepts responsibility for his actions and fully complied with the Court imposed order.

The Court banning order expired several years ago and whilst allowed to attend home games he was given a life ban on attending away games. He wanted to take his young daughter to away games but was prevented from doing so by the Club. LUST took up his plight and asked the Club to review the decision based on proportionality and a current assessment of risk our member poses.

We are pleased that the Club have lifted this banning order today.

LUST isn't bigger than you, BillysStatue or myself - it is meant to be a representation of what we are; Leeds United fans. When the head of the trust is responding to open criticism of said trust then he should offer a formal response. You use your membership as a validation for the trust, which is by name and existence meant to be a representation of LUFC fans opinion. If more LUFC fans would oppose your existence than support it, then as a democracy as your website claims you are you should follow the popular consensus and close. But that's by the by and extremely unlikely to happen.

Do you go to every game home and away? Do you go to every home game. Even if you never go that's none of my business and completely up to you. One thing I'm sure we can all agree on is we'd all love to do just that but life and finances dictate how much we get to follow LUFC and it differs from person to person. I doubt I'd ever be able to go to one of your self-arranged meetings to talk face to face. This is not only due to my original point on comment #26 but also because I work and travel 12hour plus days. You can't continue to play the 'hide behind the username' card with any legitimacy when it's a discussion on LUST and not a personal attack on yourself (which I believe to be completely unfair).

The brilliance of forums and comment sections is that they are there for all to see. No misinterpretation, no scapegoats and a vast array of opinions. Just honesty.

I'm awaiting your honesty on my comment above (which is comment #29).

DIALOGUE WITH BRITISH TRANSPORT POLICE PRE CHARLTON...

please log in to view this image
    FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2013 AT 11:48AM

This is our communication with the Match Commander from BTP prior to our visit to Charlton. We are very pleased as a Trust to have open dialogue with BTP to try to prevent the scenes witnessed at London Bridge after the Millwall game. As a direct result of our complaint we now have a communication channel direct to Match Commanders in the Capital"Dear Mr Clay,I can confirm that the I will be working with colleagues from the Metropolitan and West Yorkshire police forces on the day to ensure we not only identify any supporters who may pose a risk but also to work with the many thousands of genuine fans attending the Charlton v Leeds game. We will be on duty covering the Kings Cross and London Bridge areas and will be speaking with as many fans as possible. Leeds fans looking for a quiet drink before the game will find numerous public houses around London Bridge welcoming. However many do not open till around midday.
As you are aware there are extensive rail works taking place at London Bridge station so I would ask that the fans work with us and officers can direct them to the best platform for services to Charlton. Again I would encourage fans to start travelling towards Charlton no later than 1400 hours to ensure we don't exceed capacity on the trains and also to ease queues at the stadium.

There are other fixtures taking place on the day that will also impact on London Bridge as well as events like the Lord Mayors show.

Thanks Elland. If it makes fans happier - great. That's a decent response to point 2). I wonder though, had the person originally spoken to the club anyway? Surely all that's happened is he's 'asked steve' rather than LUFC directly and they have passed the message on.

Other than that, what role can LUST have had in having this persons Football Banning Order revoked. Also, if he was to potentially (I'd hope not) cause further trouble had LUST pushed for this FBO to be taken away then would they themselves be punished and 'AskSteve' face some scrutiny too?

Thanks again Elland. That answers half of point to an extent 3). Although that seems to be purely a standard email response and nothing has changed?

Obviously, I cannot answer that but would suspect it would not be easy to speak to the required decision maker, especially within a large organisation.

You need to have a certain confidence to do that as an individual.

Thanks Billyisgod. I appreciate the response.

LUST SUPPORTS SPORTING MEMORIES CHARITY - It doesn't say what you are actually doing though?
TRUST BOARD SPONSORS LEEDS UNITED LADIES PLAYER - This says the trust board sponsors a leeds ladies player. It's good to see some finances have gone into the club. Impressive, however why isn't this just LUST sponsors Shelbey Morris?

Ask Steve Service - This I do like to see. However I would be interesting to know what influence LUST provided which the two persons couldn't have succeeded on their own without.

WEST YORKSHIRE POLICE TO LEAVE BILLY’S STATUE FOR THE FANS - Was this ever raised with LUFC to take care of. Fair enough though.
L.U.S.T. & LEEDS CITY COUNCIL: A SHARED VISION - Glorified chin wag.

I know the above are just examples; but from reading these it would suggest that; you helped two people have revoked what would appear to be legitimate banning orders (as long as they never re-offend that can't be a bad thing though) although questions remain for me over what role LUST played in this as opposed to them just appealing directly to LUFC. Also LUST has successfully asked the police to let people take their picture next to the Billy Statue and (in some form) sponsored a Leeds Ladies player.

Personally that's not enough to inspire me to join up, but some good work has certainly come from LUST or more aptly Steve Clay. Like the website says it aim's to be an independent voice for the fans. Well it is that, but I just wish that it was made clear that LUST's membership was a drop in the ocean of Leeds fans during interviews rather than a majority opinion. Since only 800 people who have paid get to actively vote I don't think it's right to see the 9,000 members branded about so much. You could argue I'm a free member since I'm also airing my views with you but that's just my opinion and you can take that with a pinch of salt I guess.

Finally, I appreciate peoples responses to my queries on this. It's nice to have a proper discussion LUFC related and if I can think of one feasible campaign for LUST to get behind with, it would be to get the away fans back in the cheese wedge and bring back some atmosphere to Elland Road. It's never been the same since Bates & Grayson wanted it moved to the West Stand for financial and 'footballing' reasons respectively. Do that and you'll have a fan in me (McDermott wants it that way as well - said so himself)!
