It's all change for the Chairboys as they return to cup action at the Alexandra Station (Gresty Road) for a first round replay against the Railwaymen. The Chairboys have played their best football this season in cup games and also away from Adams Park so this should be a delight for the faithfull that travel to Cheshire on a cold Tuesday evening. GA will have steamed into his players after the inept display at home on Saturday although the Railwaymen realy hit the buffers as were on the wrong side of a 5-0 drubbing against Brentford and with a home tie in the second round against PNE its all to play for I expect a simular line up to the first game with Matt Spring getting the chance to uncoil and I hope our best penalty takers are on the pitch after 120 mins
this is a tough one to call - both sides will want to respond after poor showings at the weekend and the bigger sides tend to bring the best out of us. after his comments at the weekend I expect gaz to start McClure, could be next to morgan or craig really. the jurys out on the midfield, whether he keeps with a 4-1-3-2 style formation or plays 4-4-2.... I expect a 4-4-2 personally with PCH and either kretch, knott or spring on the other wing (think wood will be needed at LB). no idea who he will play in midfield, but lets hope we can give this game a right go and get into the second round of this historic competition
Only a few mins now. Still 2-0. Preston at home next round. Sounds like a comfortable victory. 3 mins injury time. Crewe fans cheering their team for getting a shot on target.
excellent result and performance, really pleased with this and pleased to see gaz resort to 4-4-2 again! praise to the 81 fans who travelled as well, made a lot of noise for the amount of people!!!
