    They've won!!!!!!

Now Hull will be the focus of the nation's attention so they can show everyone what great people they are.

Come on. You're not being completely fair there.

Hull introduced the world to the drink "Draaaaaaaaa Waaaaaaaaat Waaaaaaaan - with Aaaaaaaaaaaas".

They also had a few papier mache frogs scattered around the town centre a couple of years ago, as well as inspiring the classic Chris Rea song about the M62 - The Road to Hull!

This thread is not fair. Hull has been home to many important figures. Wilberforce for example. The leadinf figure in abolishing the slave trade.

He thought it unfair that the slaves had better living conditions than he had in his home town. <sorry>

They'll pocket around 60m to invest.

If Sunderland city council got 60m wed probs get a new path and a bit of grass like the Vaux debacle.

Well i never thought that either unless the words "has" and "no" were included in the sentence!!

I went there less than 4 months ago for work - the place makes Hendon and Byker look posh!

As you can tell - I;m brimming with jealousy

Scousers talk about that as if they were each awarded The Victoria Cross. Not been to Glasgow in years but the only difference in Liverpool was people were getting chucked out the back door instead of publicly humiliated via the front door when they got caught stealing from Primark.

I had to go to Hull one week for work, my secretary told me she'd booked me into a hotel on the Marina, I thought that would be a picturesque view from the 'balcony' (of course, there was no balcony) if anything. In hindsight I'd rather have spent a night camping in Fred & Rose West's back garden.
