Works best with Stephen Merchant. The Office is quite possibly the greatest sitcom of all time. I generally like his personality as well, he comes across well on twitter and often responds to his followers. Which says a lot about his character in my opinion. EDIT - I hated the American version of The Office.
I think for a sitcom to be called 'the greatest' it has to have wide appeal, whether you personally like it or not. The Office caters to a specific type of taste in humour. It maybe the best thing you've ever seen but for me, it's narrow appeal keeps it off the top of the list.
I'd have thought One foot in the Grave was more your thing.... I bet Suarez would be a massive fan of Love they Neighbour
I find the same with a lot of programmes I used to enjoy, Harry Enfield, Yes Minister - just haven't stood the test of time. A bit like going back to a holiday destination you liked first time round.
Yes that as well Frasier reminds me a bit of Kryten from Red Dwarf. Also like Seinfeld [the soup Nazi was hilarious]
Good call. Never got the American sitcoms like Everybody loves Reymond and other ones I can't think of.
I don't like any sitcoms with a live audience, other people laughing hysterically at **** that isn't funny just puts me off. Same with comedies at the cinema..
Joking aside, One foot was superb. Victor Meldrew - what a character. But to take 'Meldrew' and throw him into an episode of Father Ted. Pure genius
Not seen Scrubs. Mash and Cheers excellent. Never seen Bob Newhart in a sitcom, but he is/was a comedy genius.
