Works best with Stephen Merchant. The Office is quite possibly the greatest sitcom of all time. I generally like his personality as well, he comes across well on twitter and often responds to his followers. Which says a lot about his character in my opinion.

EDIT - I hated the American version of The Office.

I saw your comment, then saw your age - you probably haven't seen many sitcoms.

I think for a sitcom to be called 'the greatest' it has to have wide appeal, whether you personally like it or not. The Office caters to a specific type of taste in humour. It maybe the best thing you've ever seen but for me, it's narrow appeal keeps it off the top of the list.

I find the same with a lot of programmes I used to enjoy, Harry Enfield, Yes Minister - just haven't stood the test of time. A bit like going back to a holiday destination you liked first time round.

Yes that as well <ok> Frasier reminds me a bit of Kryten from Red Dwarf.

Also like Seinfeld [the soup Nazi was hilarious]

Good call. Never got the American sitcoms like Everybody loves Reymond and other ones I can't think of.

I don't like any sitcoms with a live audience, other people laughing hysterically at **** that isn't funny just puts me off. Same with comedies at the cinema..

Joking aside, One foot was superb. Victor Meldrew - what a character. But to take 'Meldrew' and throw him into an episode of Father Ted. Pure genius <ok>

Not seen Scrubs. Mash and Cheers excellent. Never seen Bob Newhart in a sitcom, but he is/was a comedy genius.
