OK guys - in the new found spirit of things on here, I thought I'd venture across to talk about football..... We're equal on points right now and you've got the edge on goal difference - now let's fast forward a fortnight. We've got Man U and Arsenal , albeit both at home, and you've got arguably the easier task against Fulham and Man C. From the current level position, how far apart do see the points gap widening? A couple, three, four or even all 6 maybe? Look guys, I don't want to be too optimistic, but I think us getting 6 points ahead of you might be pushing it a bit.
Haven't Fulham now got an 'attacking' coach to help them Valley? Will be interesting to see if that makes any difference to the way Jol lines his team up. Think they will be looking for the win more than you, but the fear of losing may cramp them a bit. A draw for me. Against Man city, you have nothing to lose.
I'm just hoping that Rene Mulesteen hasn't had enough time to stamp his style etc yet. But as you say, both sides need the three points.
At this point I'm just crossing my fingers. I can't see Cardiff getting anything (maybe a point). On the other hand the Fulham game could go either way and then we're left with Man C away just after the Valencia game. We could well end up as things stand now. Why don't we just ask mystic bloody Meg
Cardiff will almost certainly lose both games but hey nobody thought they'd beat Man City so anything can happen I guess. We won't get anything from the City game. Maybe a point if we're lucky but I don't see it. We have to target this Fulham game and as you say Valley hope their new guy hasn't has the time to work much with the players yet. I'm off to the game (hopefully not sitting with the home fans but it looks like it at the moment) so I'm being optimistic and going for 0-2 swans.
a win at fulham would be very welcome, particularly after last seasons surreal game at the liberty. so i suspect we'll be 3 points ahead at worse 2.
Neutral perspective We knocked Fulham out of the Capital One Cup in the last round ... defensively they were leekier than a welshman's allotment .. and Jol is under incredible pressure ... they do have some dangerous players but overall it's a good time to play them. Man City can destroy teams on their day but have slipped up a couple of times already this season. Realistically I'd expect a 3 point haul with a win against Fulham. Man United appear to have commenced getting their act together and Arsenal can be very very good on their day. If you got three points it would be some achievement (anything more incredibly good). I think you might surprise one of them.... so am predicting a point.
We will be either 1 or 3 points ahead after these two games. I cant see Cardiff getting anything and we should get something from Fulham but it will be hard work at City.
I think we can surprise Utd but every player would have to be on top of their game and Utd players suffer from international duty. However, Medel has also played for Chile this week so he could suffer jet lag. I would be ecstatic with a point from these 2 games. I think the Swans will be 3 points ahead of us after these 2 games.
I'm going for a 3 point gap....or a cheeky 4. I have a feeling Bony is about to start hitting his stride and is building confidence. Cardiff are definitely capable of a shock, but I think a point is probably the best they can hope for. Man Utd are building in confidence and Arsenal will not let them have the ball...a tough couple of weeks.
I'm going for a 4 points gap between us and the Redtits, a win at Fulham, and a draw at City, ManCity are not playing that good this season, they have not hit any consistancy, so I think we can get at least a draw! I think we will target these two game for some much needed improvement to our form!...... I cannot see Cardiff getting a bean from their next two games!.............
I think you and the rest of the country thinks that Phil, and that's the way it should go. On the other hand, 4 points should be a reasonable target for you off these next two opponents bearing in mind we took all 6 off them. OK, so we were home for the Man City game, but nobody gave us snowballs in hell of even a point in that one - just like no one is giving us a snowballs for these next two. Realistically, and looking at the rest of the fixture list to the New Year, we should not get near you in the table
Sparky you might well get a draw at Manu, if your boys can mark Rooney (Not difficult) and RVP (Difficult) out of the game! But as for Arsenal, well your going to play them with some very rich vain of form, and Ramsey is unstoppable at the minute, so I see a very comfortable Gunners win there!............ I fully expect our under-performing boys to raise their game in the run-up to Christmas, and I think you'll see a different Swansea team come January!...........
It's shaping up a bit like last season where it's looking likely that there won't be too many points separating 17th or 18th up to about 9th. A few wins and anyone can jump quite a few places.
Early last season i would have been confident of doing well in both games but this season i'm not confident at all and we will be lucky if we get any points. cardiff have no pressure whatsoever in their two games and if the big sides are over confident then that will play into cardiffs favor. I'm still going to say zero points for both teams but hope im wrong..
From what I've heard, this Mulesteen fella could have a strong impact. As my uncle Gary says, "if there's a team that's on a losing streak, the Swans will help them out. We're good like that."
Can't help seeing the Swans 3 ahead after this little lot and would be ecstatic if the gap was only 2..........would be orgasmic if we ended up one ahead!!!!! lovely comment from your Uncle Gary, Shaper......but could you edit your footnote thingie.....I suspect ML and Uncle Huw might not like you to stick to them but would be happy if you stuck to your principles.
BTW, glad to see some normality here. The ****fest was fun to read but there was a lot of it.......and this board needs both sets of fans inter-acting strongly
