Pretty worrying that we were considering around £30m for another midfielder where his current manager no longer needs him / values him. Maybe a checky low bid in January ?

Not like us to waste money on central midfielders.

 

Doesn't necessarily mean he's no good. Chelsea used Matic as a makeweight for Luiz and Matic is now the better superior player. And Mourinho currently seems not to need or value Mata or Lukaku, despite them being better than his current options.

Also Ozil wasn't needed by RM this summer, not sure that would have been a reason for us overlooking him.
