Nice phrase Knackered. I'll try to remember that one. Maybe when we get past these wretched international breaks things will settle down again. Whenever anything kicks off it's always in an international break. Or the summer.

There is only one person on this site that is the root problem. All other arguments seem to stem from either people defending him or trying to get rid. If he goes over to that new site then it will be pointless moving. Sad but true.

Why don't you come clean,tell us who you are talking about,and justify your assertion? There are too many posters who wreck the Forum because their views are either disagreed with, or seriously challenged. The challenger is then accosted with accusations of being, a)an old fart,b)patronising,c)a patronising bastard,d)harassing,e)arrogant, etc.,etc. There are your "problems" Sad but truer.
It's what I think vetch. I'm not naming any names for obvious reasons. But my opinion is that this board has gone to the pits because of one person. When that person was banned we were all debating with very few arguments. He returns - all hell breaks loose. I know you like to defend free speech and I respect that, but you must also respect the fact that I am entitled to make a statement that I believe to be true. If I didn't, I wouldn't say it.
He's clearly reffering to Dai, and I have no issue with the way swan-m has posted, he's merely being polite, and stating the obvious!..............
Making a statement that you think is true is one thing swans,but it was so nebulous,it didn't mean anything. I will agree with you that the Forum "has gone to the pits",but to blame one individual for that is both unfair,and untrue. Even when that "one person" was absent,either through holidays,or banning,he was STILL being lampooned in post after post,thread after thread. So exactly WHO was sending the Forum into "the pits" then? Not him,because he wasn't around. The TRUTH of the matter is still,and has been for years, that a number of regular posters have taken great delight in persuing,abusing,insulting and generally demeaning another poster, with malice a forethought. When that individual returns the abuse,the abusers all run to teacher and complain about him,demanding he be removed. When he is removed, they then start on him again, in his absence. That's what has dragged this Forum down,and shame on you all for doing it,and continuing to do it.
I'd like it on record Vetch that I did not agree with Dai's recent ban, made my feelings known on here and I actually contacted Dai direct to tell him. I'm sure if you ask Dai he'll confirm that
Had I named anyone then it no doubt would have been seen as an attack. I'm attacking no one. I'm just pointing out what I believe to be true. You say it's unfair and untrue, fair enough that's what you believe. But that's not what I believe. There are personality clashes on here for sure, but for me these don't cause anywhere near the amounts of trouble that this individual does. As I say, for me he is the root problem on here. I've also just seen that this same person threatened to close the site if he is banned on here again. No doubt looking for a response or reaction. I agree it was wrong for people to still mention him even after he was banned (I was not one of these people just for the record), but I can understand it too as he causes such unrest on here. You don't have to agree with me vetch, that's what forums are for, but that doesn't make my opinion any less valid either.
Is Dai your missing link, in your evolutionary theory Vetch, it sure would explain all the chaos on here!..................
