    Taken from nufcblog.....

News in the Mail today that Newcastle have opened talks for Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha, to take the England International winger on loan for the rest of the season.

Crystal Palace would have liked to have taken their former winger back on loan, in an effort to help them stay in the Premier League, but Wilfried has rejected that proposal, and it seems he wants to join Newcastle as his preferred club for the loan deal.

Wilfried joined Manchester United last January, but was immediately loaned back to Palace for the rest of last season.

Bu he has played just once for Manchester United this season, and that was in their very first game – the FA Community Shield against Wigan, but he hasn’t played since.

The news is that the English International’s representatives have recently met officials of Newcastle last week, and we assume that was Joe Kinnear, and it was about the possibility of a six-month loan deal.

The 21 year-old was tracked by Newcastle for a while before he signed for Manchester United, so it’s seems that Alan Pardew rates the winger highly, and the Ivory Coast player already has one full cap for England, but since physically moving to Manchester his career has stalled.

But with so many wingers at Newcastle, including youngsters like Sammy Ameobi, we’re not sure why Newcastle are bringing this player in on loan, since we will have to play the 20 year-old, and that will prevent other players like Sammy Ameobi as one example, from playing.

Good player who will do well for anyone outside the top 6 or 7 teams, however we already have plenty of wide players, would rather see us sign cover for Debuchy, a centre half and a number 9 before we contemplate signing wide players.

It doesn't seem such a good idea to bring a player in to blood him for a rival team and deny our own youngsters the experience that we'll be giving him.

We desperately need a winger, because most of ours are crap, but this is not the solution.

    erm.

I think we've proven we are all about improving the quality of each position season after season.
I'd stick Sammy out on loan and take Zaha on in a heartbeat as this lad is head and shoulders ahead of Sammy or Obertan.
The lad is a class act IMHO.
If we look at it in a different way..... would you want Saha or Obertan in the first team squad?
Looks like curtains for alien head now...

No doubting who'd be the best player to have in the team, but is he going to be signed or just blooded for Man Utd?

I suppose it will depend on how he performs.
I'm convinced Obertan will be offloaded in January so either way we will need some kind of cover. Fatty will want to spend as little as he can so will probably ring fence his spends for a striker so this could work well for both parties.
I'm starting to warm to the whole 'try before you buy' philosophy to be honest as it removes a lot of the risk we've had in the past.
Imagine if you could go back in time and sign Luque and Boumsong on initial loans... LOL

I'd be over the moon to have him. You could play him through the middle. Doubt it will happen. Think Sammy needs a loan anyway. He does look best coming from the left though and I'd be loathe to move Remy.

    We NEED another winger.

We have Ben Arfa who's not getting a game now and if we do play him it will be as a free role.

We are currently playing Gouff and Sissoko who are not really proper wingers, just grafters with pace. Gouff cannot really cross and Sissoko is just ok at it.

After that we have Sammy and Ober. Sammy has promise but I think we need better and Obertan is Obertan.

Who knows where the **** Marv has gone.
