Filon, I don't really dislike the ratings houses. They are a fount of knowledge. I just find their influence a little too powerful. The above excerpt I posted on the subject, was a giant p i s s take. It was just a way of having some fun at the keyboard. I like to write and often when I start, the story just takes a life of it's own. I just revelled in the bleakness of what I was writing. I've thought about aiming it at several "glass houses." All in fun mate. PS. Thank you for the kind offer Filon. It probably isn't worth you while sending it to me though, I seem to have fallen slave to the net, so much so, that my reading has just about ground to a halt. But I do appreciate the thought. It's often said that online acquaintances are meaningless, but your kindness proves otherwise.
Cyclonic: I know exactly what you mean about the internet and keyboards. Still manage to read a bit thank goodness, usually quite late in the day though. No probs with the book, if you change your mind let me know over the msg system and I'll send you one of them. The annuals aren't exactly something to read from start to finish, but are more books of reference, of course. You would be fascinated, I know, at the amount of work that goes into this particular publication. They are really expensive nowadays and, since retirement and the need to keep a sensible budget, I no longer buy the annual. For the punter who lays out serious money, I honestly believe that some sort of high-quality form/basic rating publication is a must? IMHO there are only three in the UK; don't know about Ireland and France but I'm sure they have excellent publications too. P.S. My awful selections are my own, so please don't blame Timeform!
I can't blame Timeform either mate. I suppose if we throw enough tips out, we have to hit sometime. I thought about posting 50 odd selections for today. If I can hit two or three, I can award myself some crackers. If I hide the post somewhere in the middle of the DT, maybe one or two lazy readers won't see what a charlatan I am. I can come out smelling like a rose.
3.15 Ocean Transit - form with one horse many like for the Northumberland - this one could and should frank form today
Don't you hate it when you miss something you have been waiting for. Fretwell's colours have a cross the card double in the 2yo races. Next 2yo race is fascinating with a Derby entry starting out at Sandown Park
Oooooh....good run by Swaninstockwell in the last at Sandown....thought he was going to win for a second, just got nailed by a head....
If this is considered off topic then please move/ignore but looking at the bog prices for tomorrow i think the 10/1 offered by a couple is generous for Majestic Myles in the 3.15 york.I was very impressed with his win lto up 7lbs for that but can IMO still be considered a real contender. The trainer has four in the race and this one is Hanagans pick.
