#WhittinghamOut is trending on twitter - and calls for Neil Warnock to replace him. Can't see Warnock here though.
I feel so sorry for Guy. All he wants is what's best for PFC and now he's being turned on. Appreciate he's dropped more than a few clangers, but he's still learning to do the job. Perhaps after this result he might end up resigning, but hopefully whatever happens he'll stay with the club. He doesn't seem to have a massive ego about being the top man (but perhaps this might be one of the things he's lacking as a manager, a bit of belief). If he does go, I'm not sure who would come in. Would be devastating to the community ethos to have a man like Warnock running the club I think...
Agree with every word. Fans do seem to have knee-jerk reactions. I still think he needs a) time, and b) a seasoned and experienced assistant. I hate the thought of Warnock. I've even seen calls for Cotterill back.
Who he? You're not talking about the idiot who was involved with Aldershot, now at Farnborough, surely?
He's grown up a lot since then. He's keeping Farnborough in the upper echelons of the Conference South despite working with no budget, galvanising the team to get brilliant results against sides with much bigger budgets, teams like Chelmsford or Dover while playing decent football. Just last week, Farnborough travelled to league leaders Eastleigh and could have easily gained a win.
I think a good point was raised on Express FM about changing formation to have three central defenders and flood the midfield. We're just not strong enough to play 4-4-2. Maybe it would be good to return to the formation we had when we won the old First Division with three at the back, three in central midfield, two wingback and two up front. Something has to be done to change things, and as I dont favor the "sack the manager" reaction - and never have done - a change in formation is worth a suggestion.
I can't work out why Guy is persisting with the 4-4-2 formation, he used to tinker with the formation in earlier games, but not lately. I still think he needs to be given this season, he is a rookie and the board knew that when they appointed him.
Others are calling for Steve Cotterill. Michael Appleton was also mentioned............. but I think it was a joke.
Dressing room assistant hard man to dish out some hot air, Guy is too nice. We need a wind tunnel, at the moment it's a Babyliss Root Booster.
Also, Farnborough have good come-back-ability. Against Maidenhead Farnborough were 2-0 down and came back to a 2-2 draw. Against Staines today (who have a brilliant home record), Farnborough were 2-0 down again and came back to secure a 2-2 draw. Can't see Portsmouth fighting back against anyone at the moment....
US Portsmouth won 7-5 as well. PS you can't afford Warnock, Pulis, Cotterill etc. Be a little bit positive/realistic. Why am I more confident about you than you.
I am like most other fans, I love my team when it whens, I stick by it when it looses...........we HAVE to remember, the expectation of most is too high, as much as we hate seeing our boys get beat (that feeling will never change) which ever way we view it, we have a squad primarily made up of players with no club or contract, players on loan as they are excess to requirements at their parent club and a manager who is very much in the learning curve! GW has been a great servant to our club, he steered it as best he could in trying circumstances last year, and is doing what he can with the resources he has I am sure.............but I do question his tactics some times. For me, we have at least two players out of position and in that scenario you have to be ultra confident to go 4-4-2 away from home.......I really dont think our players are good enough or confident enough to do this. Devra is not a natural left back, Painter would be our first choice there, we have an abundance of midfield players and strikers going stale and on loan, so why not get cover for Painter? N'Gala, prime example of a player low on confidence, 8 games back he was just coming into his own, 5 games back he was scoring for fun, now he makes more mistakes costing goals than I care to think of. Today, yet again, we concede daft goals, players are second best, no determination, except Barcham who for me was our best player..........I dont mind loosing, its part of our great game, but I dont like watching players who dont seem to show heart, determination and desire. Forget about "we are a big club" we are not, we are a mid table 4th tier club, struggling to find a solid footing to move on with, we need players who have heart, courage determination and a desire to put a shift in home and away, week in week out. This is arguably the toughest league in terms of stability. Results and club performances change week in week out............stability and work ethic are the keys to success in this division. Next week, I travel to another game, scunny home, my third inside a week......I will have travelled nearly 1000 mls to watch our club and so far its not been great........I hope GW and the staff get hold of these players, spell it out, get back to playing good football with desire.....stop all the nonsense interviews about how the fans have been let down and just get on with it! If any one from the club, (who I am sure will be trolling these forums for fan reaction) should be watching.......can we pleaase loose that bloody ridiculous plum and pink kit! BP.......PUP
