I can't watch England any more. Saints have spoiled me with superior modern tactics. English football is trapped in the dark ages.
England are the Portsmouth of international football. Except Portsmouth games tend to have a better atmosphere.
That was really rather toss, and a hell of a difficult game to make a debut. As Mikey says, it's odd how poorly prepared the players seemed. Ah well.
Not a great performance from an England team in general, certainly needed more presence in the centre of midfield against a possession playing side - Lampard and Milner just don't cut it together. Rooney was poor I thought, started to come into the game around 70 minutes, but needs to find a lot more consistency in an England shirt. I thought Lallana modestly impressed, he looked a bit of a threat and looked a little dangerous without having very much of the ball. His work rate stood out as he tracked back well a few times and did provide some attacking impetus, I would expect him to get another chance for England. Rodriguez however looked a little lost, and I don't think was up to the game - he reminded me of his first few games for saints where he looked out of position and a little overawed. I feel this cap may have come too soon for him, and maybe if he gets another chance after the world cup he may be able to take it, but from this showing I unfortunately think he may have missed his chance and most likely will not be going to the world cup.
Joe... pm if you have the balls to meet up. I read your constant bullshit and endless so called knowledge. Really wanna give me **** online. Give it to me to my face. Ciao
Please don't be injured Lallana. Poor game didn't think Rodders was particularly good, lallana worked hard with a bit more practice could develop a good understanding.
I like Jay, but he's not really an international-quality player at this juncture...heh, if you asked me to rank the English players in the Saints squad, he'd likely clock in sixth at the moment. Lallana certainly did not look out of place, though. Nice link-ups with Rooney, and his first touch was brilliant as always.
Dreadful game. How dare a team play the high press against us! England couldn't pass the ball. Don't think Lallana did himself any harm because he played okay in a bad side. Feel sorry for JRod as strikers are judged on one thing...may be his only chance...one thing being given a chance in a good England side, quite another being asked to shine in that load of rubbish.
