Stats dont lie and you can judge every thing in football by stats. Suso is now better than Messi!

Embarrassment of enriches in midfield? I'd have him in the team before Moses.

  3. Isn't Messi injured? Neymar is the guiding star nowadays.

I'm still concerned about Suso's strength and work rate in the PL. He needs this full season loan. Looks very positive for Suso next season though.

good assist stats but it also depends on the strikers putting their chances away.

probably a bad example as he was ****, but Downing would have got a lot of assists if Carroll or who ever had fecking taken them useless twats, instead he had 0 goals and 0 assists one season which made him look worst than he actually was.

any way good to see from Suso, hopefully he will get more time here next season to show what he can do.

  6. Totally agree, it takes two to make an assist <ok>

As **** as Downing was for us, he did put some good crosses in but there was never anyone in the box, or more to the point gambling in the box, to benefit from them!

If I rememebr rightly, Downing's secondary assists stat was always very good

  8. I prefer the 'chances created' stat. Much better for judging a player than assists. Not that I agree with using stats <laugh>

But we should remember that Suso has achieved these stats despite playing for the second worst team in the league. I think he's a better option to have than Alberto.

Hopefully we can do the same for Alberto next year ...

bit harsh on Alberto there Jimmy,

one is playing for a club where there is expectation to perform to a high standard every week the other isnt, makes a dif to the confidence of players esp youngsters if no pressure to perform and can just play their natural game.

  11. You also have to remember he is (I'm guessing) their main guy and its in the Spanish league. It by no way shape or form means he will do well for us given the opportunity. Just look at Forlan, awful for Man Utd, superb back in Spain.

I wasn't criticising Alberto - he's a young lad and being out on loan, playing competitive football should be his priority to ensure he continues to develop.

Suso was playing u21 level but we got him a loan for this season and now he has the attention on him which should help him cope better with the demands of first team football.

And Gez - you're right but having seen him perform in La Liga gives me more confidence that he has the talent to succeed, rather than just go by his performances at reserve team/u21 level.

He actually uses his body well to protect the ball in same way as Coutinho. Neither are man mountains but are good enough with the ball to get their body in the way which will let them keep it or bring about fouls

Exactly, and these are the type of players we need in our midfield. Players who are confident in tight spaces and not afraid of the opposition getting close up.

In addition, Suso has one of the best dribble completion stats in La Liga also - which shows you that you don't need express pace to beat players, and also indicates Suso's quick feet, skill and intelligence.

There was a moment when he was surrounded by 3 Barcelona players. What does he do? Plays keep away and nutmegs one or two of them before drawing the foul.

He should definitely have a place in our squad as a replacement for Aspas (if Aspas doesn't succeed, its early yet) or Moses.

  19. I don;t agree. Aspas is a forward, Suso isn't so he shouldn't be replacing that playing as that would just leave us even shorter up top.

I like suso at the no.10 but it seems for Spain u21s and Almeria he has been playing and drifting a bit.
