Matt Phillips becomes latest player to withdraw from Scotland squad 14 November 2013 13:06 GMT Matt Phillips has become the latest player to pull out of the Scotland squad for November friendlies against the USA and Norway. The Queens Park Rangers winger's withdrawal due to a hamstring injury was announced by the Scottish FA on Twitter. The 22-year-old has made two appearances for his country, making his debut in the 5-1 defeat against America in 2012. His only other cap came in the recent defeat to Belgium in October. Phillips gained a recall to the international scene having played eight matches for Harry Redknapp's side. He had previously spoken of his excitement at returning to the Scotland fold in an interview with the Scottish FA's website. Jordan Rhodes, James Forrest and Chris Burke have already pulled out of Gordon Strachan's squad through injury. http://sport.stv.tv/football/248613...test-player-to-withdraw-from-scotland-squad/?
Hopefully Aryy's had a whisper in his ear. But if that's so, I wonder if that means Junior is going to be out for a couple of weeks? I suppose we wouldn't want to risk being without any genuine wingers for the next couple of games.
I do so hope, it is a precation...we thought Dunnes was a precaution and look what happened on saturday We are doomed I tell you, doomed
Wingers these days seem to struggle with their hamstrings. Could it have anything to do with being played on opposite wings to cut inside and shoot more? As opposed to old time fashioned wingers who got to the byline and crossed. Running at high pace and shooting is pushing your body to the max.
Is it just me? But in the old days, before warming up and warming down, specialist coaches and all the other high-tech diagnostics, players never seemed to have these sorts of problems. A *** and a pint and Stanley could run like the duracell bunny...
CorkeR, If you're concerned, pm me your address and I'll send you your match tickets by post. I'm only trying to communicate information and advice to non-regulars.
