People in Europe have no idea how much money I've saved them over the last 3 years. It all started when I was attending a party in Ireland and Michael O'Leary (Ryanair) was a guest too. Over a few drinks I convinced him to shelve the introduction of charging for using the bog (£1 for a pee and £5 for a dump), and also for a charging structure for using ipod, iPad, MP3, DVD, mobile games in fact any personal electrical equipment. Couldn't stop him charging extra for fatties
Contributing to keeping a wine industry going for another year of the back of how much wine I and a hundred mates drank over a weekend whilst taking part in a running event.
Boggers, did you know that there's a marathon gets run in France around a load of vineyards (with free samples, of course!). I worked with a guy in Belgium that attempted it. He didn't manage to finish. The wine finished him!
Some years ago I designed a board game where you had to manage a city as it suffered various catastrophes. You ran the fire, police and public services and had to keep the public happy. I called it City Mayor. Two years later Maxis released SimCity. I've been quietly muttering about it in a dark room ever since.
