Apparently a new book about Michael Laudrup. A Gentleman in New Clothes.

    Translated:

In a new book about Michael Laudrup, ‘A Gentleman in New Cloths,’ it’s revealed that Barca wanted Laudrup in 2008, when they had finally decided to let Rijkaard loose.

Laudrup was manager of Getafe at the time and in an extract from the book published in Danish daily, Ekstra Bladet, Getafe president, Angel Torres knew Laudrup, who was still under contract, would leave the club because he spoke to then Barcelona director, Txiki Bergiristain.

published on Wednesday , provides insight into how Michael Laudrup got the job as manager of Swansea.

Michael Laudrup was actually on his way home to Copenhagen from Spain in May last year when a telephone call prompted him to take a detour.

The man who called was chairman Huw Jenkins from Swansea FC, who wanted to meet with Laudrup face-to -face fro the first time. It was agreed that the two would meet in Birmingham Airport.

The Welsh club boss was looking for a replacement for Brendan Rodgers as Liverpool FC had snatched by Swansea's successful promotion season , and Jenkins had a number of issues in mind. One of them was Danish Michael Laudrup .
