Thats the one thing I was thinking about and as you say, bumper and maiden hurdle isnt definitive. That said, he has only ever raced in one big field since then and he ran well enough off 153 and top weight. I think running with the choke out in the Lexus maybe emptied him, he was bang there two out remember and went out like a light, I dont think we seen the real Hidden Cyclone after that. If you watch his last run, you can see the real Hidden Cyclone, despite a couple of iffy leaps including at the last, he put in some very slick jumps at times and was really running with purpose. He quickened up a fair way out and really put them under pressure, it wasnt a great race but that was probably the most impressed ive been with him over fences and the 2m5 at Cheltenham will be right up his street. I think he is ready to run a massive race and if he puts in a good round, it will take a good one to beat him.
Shark thinks he's the sort of horse who will excel jumping at a fast pace and he'll definitely get that here. He could well be right as he may overthink his jumping when steadied into fences and that certainly won't be the case here. He does really strike me as the sort of horse who won't enjoy getting crowded. I think they'd be mad to bury him on the fence in midfield.
Im not particularly keen on Andrew Mac, would prefer someone like Gerraghty on him but its his ride so what can you do, Id expect him to be very handy from the start. He done me a good turn with Tranquil Sea a few years back so hopefully he can do it again.
NICKY HENDERSON has elected to let topweight Finian's Rainbow take his chance in Saturday's Paddy Power Gold Cup, although a decision on big-race favourite Dynaste's participation has yet to be made. Haha I hope the man who laid me 55's on Betfair is having a little bum squeak now LOLOL
I'm more than half convinced by Toppy's conspiracy theory about FR being in to keep Nadya's weight down! 16-1 currently.
Nadiya was only backed today because the WEEKENDER headlined it. Lets see who the Geraghty man chucks his leg over!
Interestingly A P McCoy is NOT scheduled to be on Johns Spirit according to ATR- that will be McClernon. Will he go onto Colour Squadron?
That's actually a daft comment by me as AP would be on Nadiya anyway huh Cant see Buckley leaving his horse in to help JP frankly!
I agree regards Nadiya, JP owned but Finians is Michael Buckley owned - not left in to help, not having it. I fancy Rajdhani Express and Salut Flo and backed them both in small bets, the race isn't a classic regards quality but it's a real puzzler
If Finnian's Rainbow stays in then McCoy will have to get down to his joint lowest weight of 10-3 to ride Nadiya De La Vega. He did it to win on handicap snip Mr Watson earlier this year so he won't be doing the weight unless the horse is fancied.
I like Hidden Cyclone but as been stated already I'd worry about his jumping in a big field. I'm leaning towards Champion Court.
I had this race down to Ballynagour & Katenko, Katenko looks to not be running so BALLYNAGOUR 10/1 is the bet. Can`t see it being 10s on the day!
If the Hendo "plot" is a bust then maybe there is a Pipe one! Ballynagour 16-1 - did my conkers on this last Chelts, when to my disgust they opted to run him in the cross country, and not either of the other 2 options which I had backed him in! Seems to go well when fresh and is now Pipe's only representative. Elsewhere, AP rides Tap Night for Lucinda Russell and Andrew Tinkler is on Nadiya
That price changed after the decs this morning Reebs, no 16s around after that! 10s only at Boylesports now.
oh ok - placed mine last night but the bit at the top of the ATR racecard that shows prices was still showing the old price. Still - if it doesn't win it can be whatever price you want! Good luck to us then
Well done Reebs - A P McCoy on Tap Night... I was with Katenko for this but as he's now a non runner - I now fancy Tap Night
