This thread is truly pathetic, Ackworth is not a cause célèbre. He is a poster on a football forum, the moderators have the right to ban whoever they like. I think some of the posters should get things in perspective and find a really worthwhile cause to get behind. The moderators do a good job over here and I believe they have been fair and even handed in their treatment of Ackworth. What a lot of fuss over one poster. I think I will give these forums a rest as they are beginning to pee me off.

Using heroic words will never make you a hero. I try to do what's right by the forum. As I have for the last years and not the 2 weeks you have been here.

I spent all afternoon at a funeral. A close friend. So I'm done for tonight. You want to meet, happily. No keyboard warrior meet - bit I hope you'll see I'm a guy doing what I thinks best. Maybe I'll understand you. I'm happier to discover

It is on there, EA. I can vouch for Vol.

Have you seen the plans for Eastbourne's new shopping centre? It is actually going to run right up to the station and engulf the Gildredge. I have many happy memories of that boozer. And the Dolphin, the Star, the Terminus, the Bitter End, the Lottbridge Tavern, Fisherman's Arms...

That is a shame. Eastbourne is a fine town with much to offer. Is the Enterprise Centre still open? I used to love shopping for oddments in there.

Tewkes and SuperC are good men. The abuse being thrown at SuperC has no basis in reality, none at all. To throw this sort of abuse at someone you don't know, based on one difficult decision with which you don't agree but don't know the background to, well you must have your own personal reasons.
Not referring to Ponders, by the way.

I remember another place called the Labyrinth. It had a fancy-dress shop, joke shop and a few other businesses in there. If you walked through the Arndale and smelt a stink bomb, the chances are it was bought from the Labyrinth.

The Enterprise was like a flea-market in my day. You could go in there and buy collectables, antiques, spices and really good coffee beans.

    Progress, eh?

Haha when you put it like that suppose it is! Its still got a few antique shops but I don't know if you can class what they sell as antiques..

Mind you the Arndale isn't much better now a days, it's got better recently but lots of empty shops are appearing, and they new ones are just 'Xmas shops' which close down every February

Now, back to the slow decline of Eastbourne's town centre...

No, I think it closed about fifteen years back and the businesses moved to Aladdin's Cave. Do you remember that one? It was near Bacchus Wines and the Shuttle nightclub. I'm talking 1995 to 2000.

The Labyrinth was down Station Street.

Hampden Park - the actual park, I mean - is a lovely place. Just avoid the Hydneye area!
