Has anyone organised a written petition? Volunteers with clipboards can easily get hundreds of signatures on match days, they can be left in pubs and shops for people to sign. Someone handing in a few thousand name petition to the KC reception would be eagerly snapped up by the media.
I think the more he gets backed into a corner, the more he is becoming entrenched. Wise tactics here might be to back off.
I honestly think this is the crux of the problem. He is used to getting his own way completely and he simple cannot comprehend why anyone would question anything he does.
Listening to that link I cannot disagree too much with what he says, it is his business first and foremost as he has invested heavily into it when he had no need to do so.If he had waited another day he could have got it for nowt I believe AP said, alright it would have cost deductions in points etc but he could have saved himself millions by waiting a season to get into the Premier League. We as fans think that the club should be run a certain way which as fans is our right, however as owner he also has a right to run his investment as he sees fit however much we shout otherwise. How many of us have got the money to bail out creditors of an ailing club, not me that's for sure, however he did have the money and he did bail us out for which I will always be thankful. My dad was an avid City supporter and that memory will be there forever and no name change or anything else will take away the memories I have of city as it will still be the club I support come what may. I expect to see a marquee signing in January as I think AA will use it as a way of keeping us in the premier league and putting 2 fingers up to the doubters. We can all bitch on these sort of boards but how many of us have constructive ideas about making money for the club? Maybe we should have a vote on raising the prices of season tickets and match day prices so that the club can progress further. Allam believes the club is called Hull City Tigers Limited and in that he is not wrong, the previous name was longer THE HULL CITY ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL CLUB (TIGERS) LIMITED, therefore to balance things out, what he is saying is not wrong, he seems to be having some language difficulties I think.
Even if we had constructive ideas for the club to make money, whose saying (theoretically) that he wouldn't nick them, implement the good ones, and go along with the name change anyway.
He's completely wrong, he thinks the company name is Hull City Tigers Limited and the club name is Hull City Tigers. The club name is not Hull City Tigers, it never has been and hopefully it never will be, it's certainly not being recognised by the FA at the moment and it's incredible that the owner of the club doesn't know that.
Are we absolutely 100% certain that this is not just one huge communication cock-up and that he only wants to change the company name and not the club name ? Has someone asked him this question outright ? Sorry if there are any typos as I'm typing this with one hand whilst the other clutches at some straws...
Quite honestly that could be the case, he seems perplexed about 'all this fuss' if it was only the company that's changed i personally couldn't care less. I've still not heard one person actually ask him what he intends the TEAM name to be and yes he probably doesn't have a clue that theres a difference.
Surely, they wouldn't have changed every detail on the badge or on their website, & on their social network sites if that was the case, and he'd only changed the company name.
Whenever I read his comments it seems like he is in his own world, very worrying- the latest I read is that he is going on about investment and how that it is fine so long as the results match it, does he think we are going to be winning all season and near the top of the league? We are probably due a run of poor results and will be scrapping in the lower half of the table, how is he going to react then? Bruce is a canny man and I reckon he knows the score, I reckon if another club comes in for him then he will seriously consider going and that could leave us right in the **** like last time when we ended up with the likes of Dowie
Honestly I agree that the best course might be to ease off him, we don't want him doing something crazy like selling the club and taking out all his money, we could go into free fall with our wage bill and that sort of thing. He does seem like he's getting edged into a corner. I also agree that the possibility that he's thinking of the Company Name and doesn't know there's a difference, but SURELY someone has clarified with him??
I don't think the club name fiasco will matter an ounce to Steve Bruce. We're a club on the up, with an ambitious owner who it seems he has a good working relationship with. He's showed enourmous faith in and backed Brucey to pull in some shrewd and expensive signings the last 2 seasons and he will carry on doing so. Brucey is appreciated and valued here by everyone aswell. Those are the things that will matter to him, he won't jump ship because of a name change, it matters nowt to him.
I don't think that he doesn't know that Lambo, I think it's a play on words by him. He DOES know that the FA know that the company name has changed to Hull City Tigers, and I think that's what he's saying. There was a clue when he was asked by Amanda White whether he had spoken to the FA or PL about the name change, his reply was was 'why would I?', indeed he wouldn't need to with regard to the company name, and I think the rest of it is just about him getting the name out there, let's face it, every time that someone types Hull City Tigers (oops, there we go again!) it's ranking improves on Google and other search engines. Maybe I am giving him too much credit but I think he knows exactly what he's doing, and he knows how to get what he wants.
There is certainly no way he is as brain dead as he's made out to be in those interviews and he's being painted by people on here. No way could he have gotten where he is now if he was, with some of the accolades he's received along the way. If he was as thick as some people seem to genuinely believe he is, he'd be sat at home drinking special brew watching Jeremy Kyle waiting for his next visit to the dole que.
Has anybody from the City Til We Die group contacted The FA regarding clarification of the name. Surely this is open information and freely available which will dispel myths?
Didn't say brain dead. He just needs to think about what he's saying. In business I doubt he's had to do too many interviews or be in the public eye. But, now he's the chairman of a club in the premier league, his actions will be scrutinised. Especially, if he starts alienating the fanbase.
