He now has the FA telling him he's wrong about what the club is actually called(astoundingly). He now has a petition with over 4,500 signatures on it. He now has sport finance experts claiming it will not increase revenue. He's just sat with his fingers in his ears going la-la-la-la. How do reason with the completely unreasonable, that's the question?
Reading that, it certainly seem CTWD has fallen afoul of him. Probably that statement the other day. You can't have genius without a touch of madness, he does make me chuckle. We all found it funny when the Thai Foxes were baring the brunt of it.
I think the only other idea for someone to come up with is from the council. I do not know the difference in income with the new or old name(and I do not feel passionately about it to be honest).I think this issue may be the way the council can appear as the knight that saves the day and recommence talks about the stadium. On another issue-I was told the concerts were not worth the bother financially. When you look at the concerts every week somewhere like Nottingham you realise there would be little incentive for most people to travel"all the way" to Hull. I just bought something on ebay that needed picking up.It was in this area and the price was easily a third less than if it had been in leeds or Brum due to the perceived hassle of getting here
The council will only get involved if it makes them look good or it is election time and it makes them look good, bloody wasters the lot of them.
Im starting to see him as an inspirational owner and a genius to boot. I'm also pleased he won't be bullied too. I liked this post too on the comments; .
It's a fine line between refusing to be bullied and refusing to see the bleeding obvious. If he listened to the people who know football and know sports marketing he would realise he is peeing off a lot of his customers with no chance of achieving his objectives, and possibly making us less marketable.
Allam is the only bully involved. Throwing his weight around saying everyone has to answer to him because he has the money.
Whilst he must have a modicum of intelligence, the longer this goes on the more I'm inclined to think he's an idiot.
Decent chairman? He's put his money in, and looks like he did the right thing sacking Barmby and bringing in Bruce. Some might say lucky. Misguided- for thinking we have no affinity with our name, and that he can just sack it off on the promise of success. How the tiff between him and the council has come to this is mind boggling. Foolish- for coming out with the crap he has in his interviews. Safe to say City fans will be talking about this season for decades to come. Unfortunately, it's not for the events on the field.
Got back from work and read his interview in the mail with Buckingham. He comes across as a right twat in the interview. Completely self centred and with contempt for anyone who dare question him. His answers offer no coherence or support to his points for changing the name.
First he states that the CTWD group is a small minority and then shoots himself in the foot by stating that he knows that 98% of supporters back his name change on the basis of the 200 fans he speaks to at forums? The man is a pillock, but he saved our club and for that I am eternally grateful. I would be happy with Hull City Tigers, But not so much Hull Tigers.
