To be honest, I thought Pardew would be another NUFC mamagement disaster, but I'm happy to say so far that he's Ok - Not fantastic, but not JFK either! He seems a fairly unassuming bloke, who only speaks when he has something to say... But if that will be enough when we (hopefully) climb the table we'll have wait and see.
The one thing I am worried about is that CH was replaced so Pardew could take the club to the next level - When we reach that level (Europe?), will Pardew be seen as lacking the required experience, and be replaced - Leaving us on the constant management merry-go-round?

    He's done OK to date.

Transfer window will be his big test to start creating the team he wants.

I'll judge him at the end of his first full season though.

If memory serves correctly, he was a gambling buddy of MA's and lost over £5m on the tables which MA took care of for him. He's definitely MA's Man.

The thing is he's the only manager in the UK that Mike actually trusts.
So whilst Ashley owns us were better off with Pardew and any form of stability he might bring then chopping and changing manager when Mike feels like it.

I like Pardew.I think he came in and did well, when potentially we could have just gone down the ****ter. The transfer window will be a massive test though. If he fails to bring in signings, or sign mediocre players, then im sure he'll start to feel some pressure.

But, If I had things my way CH would still be our manager. Possibly, the most unlikely legend this club has had. I only hope for the best with that man. I'm looking forward to him coming back to SJP with another team. He'll get one hell of a reception. Like Kevin Keegan did when he came back with Man City a few years ago.

In the circumstances he came in (without a good striker), I think he has done quite a good job, bar WBA daft substitutions and playing 5 at the back in some matches?! Hopefully, with a set of fresh and brighter players next year, we can judge him better.

we will see how the squad shapes up by the time the window shuts on my birthday 1st september (hopefully i can have a nice birthday present for that ), he is not a terrible manager but has a lot to prove due to the popularity of CH, but give him time sacking managers is never the answer as we have learned

I think you're spot on with that comment. He also knows the strained relationship between the board and fans atm and is constantly acting as mediator, whilst Ashley has clearly been told to stay in the background for now by whoever runs their PR.

On the surface he seems ok. I wait to see what players he bring's in, style of football we play and were we finish next season before I fully back him.

I don't really have any time for him, he is Pie Boy's puppet in my opinion. I'll be happy when they all **** off.

Anyway, in a proper view I think he's a good manager, but not influential, the kind we need in the transfer market...

"If memory serves correctly, he was a gambling buddy of MA's and lost over £5m on the tables which MA took care of for him. He's definitely MA's Man."

If memory serves, this was a rumour with as much credibility as that KK had his heart set on signing Beckham and Henry.

So far he has neither had a bust up with MA nor been caught licking his boots. People who say he is a puppet have nothing to base that on except spite and a general urge to carp. For the rest of us, we'll see how he does in the next few months

Quite why you have chosen to make such an inane comment about his trustworthyness is beyond me. The bloke has done reasonably well in difficult circumstances and comes across as an honest and dignified man who has "fronted" the club in an impeccable manner.

To be honest if a cantakerous twat like Joey Barton thinks he's a good bloke, and he knows him better than the rest of us, I'll take his opinion before yours.

No better or worse than Hughton on first impressions but it's unfair to judge until we see his team next season. Hughton seemed the nicer guy, Pardew seems slightly more professional. He says the right things in interviews but as proven its all bollocks. He managed to keep Hughtons togetherness and spirit this long but how long it will last (Barton/Nolan contract issues etc) is anyone's guess. I'm reserving judgement.

*I am impressed with his signing of Cabaye, congratulations Pards!

he seems a decent manager, don't forget he turned round a 4-0 loss to 4-4 in 45 minutes..
The only criticism/thing I'm not sure about is the actual transfers and contracts, I don't know if he's just saying things to appease the fans or sound hopeful.. so I can't trust him YET but I will see after the transfer window (and not forgetting that it might not be his fault good players don't come to us/ashley won't offer contracts)
