I go to all our games so I'm not too bothered about missing the rest on the box.

    Stuff them.

Now the elderly have the grim choice of food, heating or watching champions league footy...

Guess I'll have to bring my own biscuits when I go round to see Grandma!

Second rate ISP? Second to who??

The new 'truly unlimited' packages ensure there is no traffic management including P2P. There are no fixed IPs on a residential contract but there are on business.

Tell me another provider pumping billions of pounds into Fibre roll out?

Sky have had the monopoly over football for too long. Yes they've paid for it, but it can only be good for the consumer to ave more choice available. Would you have complained if Sky had just announced the same deal? I doubt it.

By the way, there are apps available for BT sport and unlike Sky, you don't pay a fortune to access them. They come free if you have BT broadband.

Free at the moment, but just a short while before it's a paid for viewing channel.

They reckon all of this season and next for BT Broadband customers. After that it will cost. Just a ploy to take back some of their lost broadband customers really. I'll worry about that when it gets to that stage. They have to charge at some stage, they have way overpaid according to the other broadcasters.

5G should hopefully bankrupt BT over the next 10-15 years. That's why they're pumping their money into television, I can't wait for their dismal package to flop, I hate that stupid company with a passion.

You may be confusing BT Wholesale which is responsible for the back end whereas I am talking about the front end part which is the actual ISP. So the billions invested in the infrastructure doesn't count and certainly doesn't count if one lives in the sticks.

Anyway, if you think that traffic shaping is good and the censorship of web browsing is good then no doubt you will be happy with the service. And of course not having fixed IP which is still useful for those 'at home'. My particular ISP hasn't had an outage of their fault for ages (when there is a fault it's often in the infrastructure), they don't shape traffic and they certainly don't stop access to various sites.

Still, if you're happy with your web browsing being subject to being blocked then good for you. I won't touch an ISP which blocks web sites.
