Well in a week where horse racing celebrated it's most prolific winner, competitors in our little weekly comp stepped up to the plate. 24 winners from 70 selections, a success rate that the McCoy boy can only dream of. Whether we could keep it up for nearly 20 years though may be questionable. The vagaries of the ol nanny goat was also highlighted. For example just how did Melodic Rendezvous pay £6 for the win (and why wasn't his biggest forum fan (Oddy) on him? How did Levitate, 12/1 early on, only pay £4.90. Anyway it mattered not in the final analysis there were 3 standout performers as follows: 3rd The ultra consistent Reebok - 15.90. 3 winners plus all others placed including his reserve. 2nd Sir Percy -18.80. 4 winners (and the 5th placed) Winner Ron. It's fair to say Ron the Mod has had a slow start to the campaign this season. That all changed yesterday. 4 winners for 19.60 return and narrow victory by 80 pence.
