What a stupid thing to say? Alert other clubs that we will sell anyone interested now has just crossed out the figure in their head and probably halved it.
    Well done <doh>

Well if the board say there's no money and you need to sell why should SOD pussyfoot around the topic?

we just sold Adomah and davies for 1.7 million. Got JET for nothing so money isn't a problem. Why come out and say it like he has. Basically came out and tell people we'll sell him. He didn't need to say it. If its true then keep it out of the media. Basically put him right up for grabs now. We need him for the whole season. and selling him in January would be ridiculous

We lost more than that by going down. Money is clearly a problem, did you see how much we lost last year? We're miles away from break even so as I said, if the boss says you need to sell, SOD will have to sell <ok>

14 goals this season and 7 in the last 4 games is enough to attract interest from higher placed teams. lets be honest, a Big championship side or small Prem. comes in for you, what would you do- If the money is right, every player has his price-

JET at the moment seems priceless, but I think SOD is doing not much more than stating the obvious at the minute- Be gutted if he went all the same.

yes I understand that teams will be looking at him and teams will want to make a bid, but why make our intentions to sell him known? Makes us look a bit desperate for money.

I haven't been a big SOD critic to date - I appreciate that circumstances have been tough, big changes have happened and are ongoing and I hope that this recent upturn in form is the start of good things.

However, I think he's made a mistake here - not necessarily in selling JET if the offer's good enough, but by essentially saying that he IS going to be sold, rather than suggesting 'there's likely to be interest come January which we'll listen to', surely hands a certain amount of bargaining power to potential suitors and is highly likely to reduce the fee he'll be able to command.

    Exactly!

We have the thing people will want. by saying we want to sell it has automatically told people who are interested that we will settle. The better thing to have said would of been something like

"We know teams will be coming in for JET, teams will be interested in him but he plays for us and we want to keep it that way, if anyone is to take him away from us it will have to be for a substantial price"

not "ive told him I need to sell you"

sorry sod you come across very intelligent in interviews and in your notes but this is by far one of the most stupidest things ive heard a manager say...

FFS, the man is a diamond, we need him to keep us up, SOD has took us down once, we don't need to sink again, we need to maintain our status, apart from our one man dynamo SOD's signings have not inspired, average 3rd level, lower level, if he goes we are doomed, SOD is a boring twat, he is an asset stripper but he is our only choice according to the suits and they are the people who have created our demise..

We must keep Jet and SOD is a daft twat to tell him he is available for the right price, what is Jet a piece of meat...?

It's early days but I think some sort of fans message should be set up here to let the club know enough asset stripping is enough, shout loud to let Jet know we the fans want and value him and he must stay with us, the board must be told to instruct SOD to shut his mouth and concentrate on improving his own crap performances..

If we all take some serious time to assess what has happened then clearly we are reaping the whirlwind of past excesses and bad board decisions, and perhaps the talk of selling JET is the only way given our financial constraints.

Mike the board have made the mistakes in the past, the only shining light football wise is JET sell him then this club has lost any interest in progression,we might as well call it a day.
Not so long ago the great leader of our club was talking premership, what a joke those words are after Sod saying JET will be sold in January.

If we have to sell JET, the board of directors may as well follow him out the door

Which is why I kept saying, (for those being brain washed) that any decent player coming through the academy will be sold on and not kept to help our team....
With the transfer window system the way it is, it's going to be very difficult to progress. It's quite worrying!

Crazy. Sure, the economic reality is that with JET in a hot vein of form, he'll have been noticed and most likely subject to bids in January... and we all know the financial pressures at the club. But to publicly say already that we'll sell our prize asset in January beggars belief. As others have said, SOD should be saying that if there is interest in the player in January, the club will only sell his contract for a substantial fee which matches his worth. Right now it sounds like it's a fire sale. Honestly, I thought 3 wins out of 4 had seen us turn a corner of sorts, but it still seems like those who run our club (SOD and the Board) are determined to see us in L2 next season. I despair.

Predictable verbal **** from SOD and badly timed to boot. Sorry, I still cant take to the bloke despite our mini revival.

Where's the ****ing money from Albert and Davies is what I want to know. They sure as **** haven't invested it in the first team.

So is JET's form just to attract a bigger/better club. It shouldn't be difficult to attract a better proposition than us.

Sack the board and get rid of the Lansdowns. We'll be better off long term

    From SOD

My opinion is that SL has gambled £50m of his personal fortune on the and has repeatedly lost by making crap decisions.

If he wants a return on his money, I suggest he sells up and ****s off, not that he'll get anything like £50m for the club. He'd be lucky to get £5m

The money from Albert and Davies went on reducing our massive debt - we lost £14m

OK, I have a different view on this.

SOD doesn't want to sell JET. It's his career as well. If he fails with us, he isn't a marketable manager in the same way he was before he joined us. But, by most accounts he is a smart manager, as he has managed on little amounts of money before. Would selling JET be Sean's choice. Of course not. The board will have forced that on him, if it happens.

The board have told him that no player is safe from sale as we need the money. So by going public, about the player the fans adore, he can almost force the board into keeping him. Right now there is uproar amongst the supporters about the very notion and SOD is thinking "lets hope that WIZ chap decides to start up an online petition to John Landsdown, insisting we don't sell our finest asset in a generation".

I get the feeling that SOD does not like the messages he is getting from the board about financial prudence, and selling our assets, but he is a lone voice. So he puts out these messages (including the one yesterday that his own job is also temporary) as a way of getting the Directors to back him.

It is shameful that the response from JL and crew has been to neither refute the 'we must sell JET' or the 'SOD - I am only here for a short while' statements. My anger is towards them and not Sean. I am messaging JL right now that I don't want either to go, and will happily support any online group you start Wiz regarding our main asset. I think the Board need to show some support for the club and manager here.

To repeat. Selling JET will be John Lansdowns decision. Not Sean's.
