Just looking at some weather charts and it's looking like the Jet Stream is moving north on Sunday which will mean
warmer air from the south moving over the UK.

Could be back up to 15-16 c possibly even high teens by the end of next week !

In Huddersfield it's apparently going to piss it down all week.

    Happy days.

You're either 1. Not married or 2. Not been married long.

Mate, once the heating goes on, that's it til March. FACT.

This implies you already have the heating on.I presume you were born in the West of the city.

Have you got a thermostatically controlled system? I find if I repeat endlessly that if the radiators aren't on it's because the thermostat hasn't triggered them, then that sometimes registers. Also have a thermometer in the living room. Beat them down with science. ;)

    Of course I have!

It makes no difference how often I repeat that, their response is to turn the frigging thing up.

It's like lights being turned on in unoccupied rooms. The bath being filled to the brim.

I am also cursed with 3 daughters and I know I am fighting a losing battle, I am King Canute trying to reduce his leccy bill. I will never win. I still have to do the dance and play the game, it is expected.

    Married over 25 years !

I've been lucky, my father-in-law never had central heating and is as tight as a duck's arse so our lass was conditioned
to the cold from an early age.

She turns the thermostat down before I do <laugh>

My missus doesn't like the house hot, so only puts the heating on when it's really cold.

She makes up for it by having at least 100 lights on at any given time(and I'm not exaggerating).

    Mine's not been on yet.

Drink beer, eat kebabs, stay fat, keep warm. I'm risking heart attacks & strokes but somebody's got to make an effort in saving our planet.

Heating on pfft, think of your carbon footprints, selfish bastards!!

When I were a lad there was no heating in my bedroom and in the winter you could see the water vapour coming out of my mouth as I lay in bed. And my dad was quite well off.
