PT has confirmed Linganzi is out for up to a month (hamstring), Hollands is not available to play Saturday however Harriman & Mousinho are. He also says we we will be playing our best side possible. On a side note Dack said in the press conference no disrespect to MA but the way the team are playing now is a 'dream come true' ....sounds like the players are buying into the Taylor ideas. COYG
As we have 3 players who can't play for various reasons i.e. Linganzi,Hollands and Legge, the manager is forced into making some changes, and I don't think he fancies Davies so I expect us to line up in Taylors preferred 4-1-4-1 formation, probably like this ______________________________________________________Nelson______________________________________ Harriman__________________________________Kedwell___________________Barrett___________________________Martin ____________________________________________________Gregory________________________________________________ ___________Whelpdale_____________________Mousinho_______________Lee_________________________________________Dack ___________________________________________________Akinfenwa_______________________________________________ I think Bayo will be up top in preference to Cody, because of his physical presence against non -league players and also because of his ability to hold the ball. I can see Cody replacing hime late on and also Weston replacing Dack.
vinney...no, no, no that line up is so wrong, please not...no way Bayo up front and Gregory in midfield, pleeeeeeeeeease.
Cant see the Kedwell CB talks coming to much. Yes he did well there last Sat when called upon and of course is always back in defence at set pieces but we have seen many times Davies is more than capable (the best CB at the club IMO) so cant see past him and the skipper tomorrow to be honest. If Kedwell hadn't stepped in after the sending off on Sat this wouldn't have even been spoken about as an option. Personally i think it was bit tongue in cheek by PT in the press conference after the game. Brackley have quick players in their team and i expect Davies to be included to help Barrett out at the back NELSON HARRIMAN BARRETT DAVIES MARTIN GREGORY LEE WHELPS MOUSINHO KEDWELL CODY
harryheadbutt...what do you know about this Mousinho, can he play on the left wing and does he have strength and pace?
No he is definitely central (sorry my lineup isnt very balanced ;-) ) and very much box to box, more in the Lee mold i would say but with perhaps a better eye for goal. Am hearing that Hollands is available now too, so another option which is good. He did of course score the goal that sent Stevenage up at Wembley (pretty good one at that!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hkl-0YJE70Y
All change...Hollands is a NO again From kentonline twitter We gather @CAFCofficial initially gave @TheGillsFC permission, but have now changed their mind. Brackley have two full coaches of supporters coming plus the drivers and those traveling by rail. Only hope they are given the GRS looking at the forecast. Town End is not open for home fans COYG
I think Gillingham will line up as follows....................... --------------------------Nelson---------------------------------- Harriman-------Davies----------------Barrett----------------Martin -----------------Lee-----------------Mousinho-------------------- Weston------------------Dack-----------------------------Whelpdale -------------------------Kedwell----------------------------------- Subs: Howard (GK), McKain, Muggleton, Gregory, McDonald, Akinfenwa, German Hopefully we get to see Bradley Dack playing in his preferred "Number Ten Role" just behind Danny Kedwell, after all this is the position on the pitch where Bradley Dack scored 27 goals for The Youth Team two season's a go so this is where we should be playing Bradley Dack, I would start John Mousinho tomorrow and look to give him 60 - 65 minutes as Mousinho will be lacking in match fitness and match sharpness and their is no point signing him if he is not going to start. I think Peter Taylor will stick with the 4.5.1 formation that we have been playing with in recent week's, we did change to 4.4.2 in The Second Half against Carlisle United and we might do the same-thing at the start of The Second Half again tomorrow.
I really detest the 4231 formation. It's way too negative as you're essentially playing 631. It's a system that sets up to not lose, not to win a match. Do we really need to be so negative at home? In the FA Cup to a non league side???? No if you were to, say, drop Lee and bring in Cody up front for a 4132 formation I think it would be far more positive, or even have a 442 with a diamond midfield and the 2 full backs getting forward??? I just think this is a great opportunity to get a bit of confidence. Let's get a lead early and extend it, not try to stop the other team scoring and hope we can knick one on the break.
do i need my id today to go with my £15 cup ticket? Ok fair enough sarcasm is not one of my better traits...lol
after todays match there is no way Taylor should get the job! Not seen any improvement since Allen gone.
I echo the thoughts of gioblues. To be fair I didn't want him in the first place but yesterdays match was just embarassing to watch. Gregory showed why many people don't rate him, Whelpdale didn't look interested, Lee got booked in the first half again which means he's always wary of being sent off. Weston showed glimpses but would drift in and out of the game. Only positives for me if any were Nelson, Harriman and Martin. Davies looked more than competent at the back and to replace him with Kedwell at CB pretty much cost us that goal. Gregory should have been the player replaced for Bayo at half time. I was pleased with Dack especially after he took a nasty whack to the ankle in the corner and Mousinho looked decent enough. Overall though they were far too poor. Please the next guy whoever it will be can sort it out!
We knew Brackley would come at us at 100mph,but we looked similar to what was described last week against Carlisle. Our attacks were so slow that Brackley had all the time to stop them.If any neutral had been there, they would have wondered who was the League side and who was the non League side.We had no creativity at all,and had our first chance in the second half.I said to my mate that if we score first we will win,but the longer the game went on you could sense that Brackley could nick a goal. They played some great Football, and their number 11 Glenn Walker was very good (worth keeping an eye on). They scored in the 69th minute which looked like a Martin own goal.I was having flash backs of Dover.Taylor made three changes bringing on Dack,Mousinho, and Akinfenwa, but what surprised me was he took off Davies and put Kedwell at CB.Unless Davies was injured why change a Defence that had currently kept a clean sheet? Was it a coincidence that we conceded so soon after? Nelson made two important saves in the game,so it could have been worse for us at this stage, but there was a nervy moment when Nelson spilt the ball and they nearly scored, but Mousinho cleared it off the line. The ref seemed to injure himself late on,so we had a lengthly stop in play. The board went up on 90 minutes and we had 6 added minutes, even in the 95th minute it looked bleak for us,but some how the ball fell to Dack who scored past Turley to send the small Priestfield Crowd mad.Im sure there was a feeling of relief, but equally embarrassed as we did not deserve a replay. We nearly won it aswell when Akinfenwa went close and that would have been even more cruel for Brackley who deserved to win the game. The only positive I can take from the game,is we`re still in the Cup.
