Our players tactics for Saturday should be as follows: **** 'em up, get into them Our fans tactics for Saturdays should be as follows: hurl tonnes of (non-racist or homophobic) abuse at Graham Westley, what a dick.
Hopefully, Bury will allow us to play Trevor Carson, as all being well, we will hopefully be signing him in January. With regards to John Marquis, surely with Ryan Bird finding his form, along with Big Pat & David Connolly, and with the possibility of Jake Jervis signing for us, do we need to worry about him ?
See what you are saying Stewie, butagree with the Doctor (who?) regarding a nice "juicy" 3rd round tie to produce a big payday for the club.
Agreed. There are no cup runs factored into the budget. We've seen what a bit of (unexpected) extra income can do to the playing squad over the last few weeks. If we can make it through to the third round and get a ntie against Man U, it could pay for the players to have hot showers again, a bag of new footballs and a decent clock. And before any Saints fans get there ... pay off our debts a little quicker. Still, we'd be getting way ahead of ourselves. As Devo says, it would be a giant-killing to get past this round!
Last season Stevenage loaned us their out of favour/want rid of striker - the one and only Big Pat! I would imagaine the big man is desperately keen to come up against his old team......... hat-trick anyone?
Apparently this is just about done............ the club were checking his current contract (which was ripped up) for any little hidden clauses that could come back and bite us on the bum later. His international clearance came through okay. So he should be signed soon.
I'm glad you asked. Graham Westley was formerly owner and manager of Farnborough Town FC. He was owner and manager when Farnborough Town went on their cup run and played Arsenal at Highbury back in around 2004ish. Just a few days after the match and having made loads of money which should have gaurnteed the club's financial stability for years, Graham ran off with all of the money that had been made during the cup run and half of the first team squad to Stevenage, sending Farnborough Town into financial turmoil. The club limped along but went into administration in around 2006ish and were liquidated at the end of the 2006/07 season, before a new club, Farnborough FC were formed.
I predict Stevenage 3-1 Pompey in front of around 3,800 (their average home league attendance this season is 3,064)
Anyone aware if Bury will allow us to play Trevor Carson in goal Saturday ? I suppose it's a matter of whether they are willing for him to become cup tied whilst with us on loan....
Still to be confirmed (according to this):- http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/p...qualms-over-selecting-marquis-again-1-5656443 The sad news is that Marquis isn't eligible to play either. Shame.
They said they were still checking earlier, honest! They're quite quick to edit articles (like removing the reference to Ben Thatcher as Jed's agent) I'm doing screen dumps from now on...!
