Good stuff, article also says Hodgson intends to take 5 strikers to Brazil. Although, it is the mirror.

Depends who you categorize as "strikers" as well.

He can try all the youth that he likes, yet we know that the same old faces will be on the plane to Brazil, hope Luke gets picked to play the friendlies and if he does well then Cole may be left behind next year as he is a bid injury prone now. Our only player that should be in the team is Clyne with the other 3 maybe making the bench. Would be great to have Clyne; Shaw, Lallana and Rickie involved in these friendlies

The Telegraph also saying Shaw has been called up, and will be announced later.

Personally, I think Lallana deserves it more.

Probably does, but Luke's certainly got more of an England career in his future so it makes more sense to call him up if it's about "giving youth a chance".

Completely agree, to the extent that I will be disappointed if he isn't called up. He is easily England's best attacking midfielder so far this season. I'd like to see him next to Wayne Rooney and Daniel Sturridge...

Are we assuming Lambert isn't in the squad then? The article from the Mirror says Defoe is the one likely to drop out for Berahinho.

There isn't really a limit on squad size for a friendly...Roy may call people up just to look at them in training. Probably still have most of his main squad in case they don't cut it or it is too soon. Fingers crossed, Rickie.

Is there no u21 games that weekend?

I'm a little surprised Shaw is ahead of Gibbs. Though I must confess to rarely focusing on Gibbs as a defender to know how he compares.

Would like to see Lambert start a game.

U21 Match against Finland on Thursday (European Championship). I note that JWP gave an interview on the FA website a few days ago :)

Standard, soon he'll be hooked up with a mic so he can give a running commentary as he is playing!

Adam thoroughly deserves his call up. Shame that Clyne didn't get called up though.
