Heaven forbid that our city rivals should get a new stadium before us which leads me to the question "will we ever get our new home built"?

The new stadium in Ashton Vale has been needed for many years and it seems that every man and his dog is trying to stop us achieve what surely has been deserved for what seems like forever. Are we really such an unfasionable team that Bristol City Council and the residents of the proposed development area are turning their backs on a significant revenue generator?

Get real all you procastinators and get the job done otherwise the gas might just beat us to the punch.

Highly possible. With UWE on board, South Glos the local authority, no local residents and virgin land everything looks ready for go at that end.
The one hurdle could be at the Mem end with the Sainsbury's proposal. However Bristol council would not want to be seen to favour City and have already okayed Sainsbury's move along Winterstoke Road
What are the odds on CITY wanting to ground share with ROVERS while their ground is being built!? :cheesy:

Canada says no way to a groundshare! Can you see many, if any, City fans paying to go to Rover's stadium? Please say no.

Could there any objections raised for planning permission, when planning permission is already in existence for a totally different usage, concerns could be raised...

I am sure there is an area up near the old Hewlitt Packard site known as, " No Where".

Could this new development be known as,:emoticon-0159-musicThe Road To No Where:emoticon-0159-music

We wouldn't need a ground share we have a ground at the moment!

We wouldn't ask you lot for anything.

Except maybe could you get relegated again next year then go out of business perhaps.

Is there really room for a 3,000 capacity stadium by the Ring Road ? And even if there is, what about all the empty spaces there will be on a Saturday afternoon when the likes of the mighty Crawley Town come a visitin' !

Typical Rovers, we're used to seeing them try to gain any advantage by any means necessary but even I am shocked that they are prepared to stamp on the memory of Bristols war dead to make this happen. And if any of you blue few think that I'm saying this for banter or just to get up your nose then you are wrong. Truly sickened by this.

natch, long time no see <ok>

sorry you feel this way. but to make you feel better, there is nothing for you to feel sickened about. i understand your point fully but its the memorial gates which are in memory of those who died, NOT the land or stadium. the memorial gates is where people congregate every year on the anniversary, not anywhere eles.
and good news is, these memorial gates WILL remain exactly where it is now, no matter what happens to the land and stadium. so no need to worry. hope that makes you feel better now <ok>

I see you haven't changed your posting style, patronising as ever without bothering to take things into account, you know little things like facts...

FYI It's The Memorial Stadium not the Memorial Gates, the gates are where the plaque is, commemorating the fallen, and although they may be the focal point for rememberance and such like, the fact remains that the whole ground is indeed a memorial which is why it's called The Memorial Stadium.

I'm not going to reply again to this thread after this so feel free to twist things however you wish.
