Sunderland Football Club have been rocked by he news that star striker Asamoah Gyan is in a hotel room in Wigan waiting for permission to talk to Wigan Athletic about becoming their new player manager. A SAFC club spokesperson said,"We is proper shocked like but ya na ivery player as their price like". Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn blamed the player exodus on illegal TV broadcasts in local pubs,"A said this would happen, a said a said this would happen".

Steve Bruce is still on holiday and is being kept informed but his agent said,"Steve is committed to Sunderland and is determined to stay and get things sorted, however Mrs Bruce has always said she enjoyed her time in the midlands and found the shopping at The Bull Ring to be particularly pleasurable".
