How important are these two lads to our cause??I rate them both as top-draw players, and if we are to retain our place in the Premier League,we need both of these lads playing week-in and week out! What does everyone else think?

Don't rate O'Shea in the slightest. Brown, fit and on form, is a major asset.

The last player, in a Sunderland shirt, I hated was Bob Moncur ...... forever pointing & shouting & passing the buck.

    O'Shea has taken his crown.

I concur to the above sentiments. I've watched some real dross at Sunderland but for some reason I detest Oshea. I think he's a terrible player living off his carried too titles at Man Utd when in all honesty he's probably upper league 1 quality at best.

    Brown when fit is phenomenal

O'Shea turned in another disappointing performance. He looks panicked when he's anywhere near the box and tends to hoof the ball away, or pass it to the opposition. Then does the pointy shouty thing, as it's obviously someone else's fault.

Couldnt disagree more if I tried! And I tried!

Wes might be marginally better but he's as fragile as hell and therefore an expensive liability to the squad.

Really? I only ever remember him playing for the mags and I'm 53! Had no idea he'd worn the hallowed red and white.

    He was a nightmare mate!

He was always out of position and stood around pointing & shouting ......... you could see the other players hated him.

He also did the O'Shea 'pass' that we all know and love ......... he'd receive the ball from the keeper, scan the pitch for the best option then welly it aimlessly forward.

If, by some ****ing miracle, it reached a red&white shirt he'd stand beaming with pride ... if not he'd start shouting towards the nearest player blaming him, for not appreciating Moncur's vision, and anticipating the 'pass' <doh>

Now you mention it there is a likeness JOS looks like a bit like a chubby Moncur. A real chip off the old block! JOS drives me to despair.

I just read the other day about why Fergie sold them on - they were past their sell-by date. As if that wasn't obvious!

I always liked Moncurs stunned look.
The one where a team mate would query why he had made no effort to tackle the ball carrier.

    As for Brown and O'Shea.
Brown is a canny footballer let down by being injury prone.
    O'Shea isn't.

When JOS was younger he could sometimes get out of trouble by his pace and effort.
Fergie got rid as soon as he started failing at both.

i would like to see diakite and roberge as our first choice pairing with brown as back up. we should send jos to the knackers yard.

i have been impressed with roberge when he has played, he looks calm and composed and is decent on the ball (unlike jos). diakite has only played against arsenal but i thought he looke really good. he won every header he went for and wasnt afraid to stick his foot in.

jos must look like pele in training as 3 succesfull managers have all played him even though theres a lot of our fans, me included, who think hes ****
