Name your choice for the most famous football family. The families who have produced three or more professional footballers West Ham are said to be interested in signing Southend defender Kane Ferdinand, the cousin of Rio, Anton and Les Ferdinand (but nothing to do with Franz). The Ferdinands are part of an elite band of footballing families to produce three or more top class pros⦠THE ROBSON/MILBURNS Brothers Bobby and Jack Charlton famously won the World Cup with England in 1966, but they came from an even larger family with great footballing traditions. Bobby and Jack's mum was the cousin of legendary Newcastle United centre forward Jackie Milburn, who won three FA Cups with the Magpies in the 1950s. Bobby and Jack 's uncles George (Leeds and Chesterfield), Jimmy (Leeds and Bradford), Stanley (Chesterfield and Rochdale) and John (Leeds and Bradford) were all professional footballers, too. THE ALLENS Between them, the Allen family have just about every London club covered. Brothers Les and Dennis Allen played for Chelsea, Spurs and QPR and Charlton, Reading and Bournemouth respectively. Les' sons Clive (QPR, Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Spurs, Chelsea and Millwall) and Bradley (QPR and Charlton) both played pro, while Dennis' son Martin starred for West Ham and QPR (and went on to manage Brentford). Les and Dennis' nephew Paul (son of their brother Ron) won the FA Cup with West Ham and Spurs, while Clive's son Oliver ended up playing for Barnet. Surely Leyton Orient and Fulham are due an Allen appearance? THE WALLACES On 22 October 1988, Rod, Ray and Danny Wallace became the first three brothers to play a professional English league game together in 67 years, when they turned out for Southampton against Sheffield Wednesday in the top flight. Rod and Ray went on to Leeds United, where Rod won the title, while Danny moved to Man United and won the FA Cup, League Cup and Cup Winners' Cup. THE WRIGHTS Former Arsenal and England star Ian Wright is the proud father of Charlton's Bradley Wright-Phillips (formerly of Man City and Southampton) and adopted dad of England's Shaun Wright-phillips. His cousin Jermaine Wright played alongside Bradley at Southampton. THE SHANKLYS Legendary Liverpool manager Bill Shankly was one of five brothers who played professionally, having won the FA Cup himself with Preston. Bill's brother Bob played for Falkirk, before going on to guide Dundee to their only Scottish title and the semi-finals of the European Cup in 1963. John Shankly played for Portsmouth, as did Jimmy Shankly, while Alec Shankly turned out for Ayr United. THE GRAYS Eddie Gray played for 18 years at Leeds United, winning trophies galore during the Don Revie era. His brother Frank played alongside him at Elland Road during the 1970s, going on to win the European Cup at Nottingham Forest. Eddie's son Stuart played for Celtic and Reading at full-back, while Frank's son Andy followed in his father's footsteps at Elland Road and the City Ground, before going on to Bradford, Sheffield United, Sunderland, Burnley, Charlton and Barnsley, as well as winning two Scotland caps.
