Nicked, believe it or not, from the manc forum Kop on top! Suarez insists Liverpool will end 23-year wait to land the title despite setback at Arsenal By GERARD BRAND PUBLISHED: 10:30, 5 November 2013 | UPDATED: 11:37, 5 November 2013 7 shares 36 View comments Luis Suarez believes the Premier League's top spot is 'marked' for Liverpool after a promising start to the campaign. The Uruguayan, who has scored six goals in six games this season after returning from a 10-match ban in September, has helped push Liverpool within five points of top spot. Suarez refused to be drawn on speculation linking him with a move to Spain in the form of Real Madrid, though the January transfer window is sure to spring up a few surprises. Up top: Suarez is confident Liverpool will be right up there come May 'I know nothing of any interest from Real Madrid, and I am happy with Liverpool,' Suarez explained in an interview with Sport 890, a radio station in his native Uruguay. 'In the team we are all really excited, and looking forward to a good season. We have been at the top so far, and we are still aiming at the top - we still have momentum and we can believe that the top spot is marked for us. 'We believe in the team and we believe we can have a really good season - an exciting season. 'The Premier League is the best league there is. The stadiums, the atmosphere and the fans make football here so entertaining.' Suarez also admitted his team-mates supported him throughout his suspension and he missed them when he was not with the squad. 'When I was separated (from the squad), the players told me they didnât like that and wanted me to be with the group,' he added. 'Today I feel very supported by my team-mates, and I appreciate their support. 'The support of the fans was also very important. I always could walk on the street with no trouble. I was never threatened or anything like that - the people told me to stay. Yeah I was reading this on Sky sports or somewhere earlier We need to get down to it, put in good performances like bk half of last season and dominate teams Stop talking, sort the formation out, sort the midfield out and get back on track
well we all know he's not quite right in the head anyway lol no chance for the title, top 4 would be a massive over achievement for us currently. see where we are in January and who we can bring in but I'm still going for 5th to 7th for us.
Arrrggghhhh Wanted to add a bit But im very pleased with the points we've amounted thus far (Dont want to appear too ungrateful to the football Gods)
Absolute Bollocks! Top 4 is there for the taking this season. There is no 1 outstanding side as we speak. Therefore, irrespective of the 'experts' comments on how strong squads are they are all miss-firing at the present - including us! We do have the potential for top 4 and if we really go for it who knows we may end up on the top of the pile.
I said fifth and I'm sticking to it. I'm also sticking to my prediction of Man Utd getting top three too.
Dave. Have you been having some form of therapy? You're the most positive and optimistic poster on this forum this season
and we wonder why other fans call us deluded. title - no chance at all, whatsoever. top 4 would be an over achievement imo, we are where we now due to the 4-6 teams with more equipped squads having slow starts and coping with transition.
I have to agree with Dave (sort of) I look to the title every year as I think we should always be looking to win it. I don't mind being called deluded the day I start wishing and hoping for 4th I'll stop watching footy. It may well be mission impossible but isn't that what we're all about?
ok i wasnt saying we should take the gooners approach and obviously we are looking to win it every season, but in the real world it's not this season imo before the season started most of us would have been happy for 5th nevermind top4 and title talk. the arsenal game proved how far we are still behind imo.
No Son YOU might be happy with 5th but neither luv or RHC or me have changed our position. Aim for No 1 - see where you end up. Aim for No 5 and end up nowehere.
I think we will struggle against the big sides this year because of our poor midfield. However, we have the fire-power to smash the 'lesser' teams and that alone should be enough to get top 4 (the key is consistency). As long as we stay near the top come January, I think we may find it easier to attract our targets - then we can launch an assault during the second half of the season.
where did i say I was happy with 5th? I'm being realistic, we have at best the 5th strongest squad in the prem and for that reason title talk is crazy talk and top4 would be an over achievement.
Sucking up before he shoots off imo. Got no problem with it though, I think his comments are genuine.
You forgot to add the all important IN MY OPINION. If we have the 5th strongest sqaud then why do we presently occupy 3rd place? It's points and not reputation or cost that decides position.
No way will we win... even when pulling all the wins in the early-early season we looked fragile at times... ... and we've been shakey in several games since. I will be extraordinarily happy to finish 4th at this point. 5th probably more likely... anything less would be disappointing. There is no stand out teams this year as pointed out above... but we don't look fantastic either. Can't guess what will happen in January... I think after a mixed summer transfer window we need another knockout January like last season... THEN we can talk about the top 4 places.
Oh... but despite not expecting to win the league ... ... its the right place for the boys to be aiming.
